Ancarva has the benefit of 80 metres of direct water frontage. It has its own private pontoon suitable for yachts up to 13 metres in length with suitable shallow draft. The mooring provides excellent access to the Tamar estuary, either side of high tide, and beyond to Plymouth sound and the excellent coastal waters of the South West coast. It is possible to launch a small dingy and canoes at the property and there is full slipway facilities at the local boat yard.
The house sits in an enviable position with excellent breathtaking views and great access to the water. Southdown is a very small settlement of only a few houses and is very tranquil and peaceful. The facilities of Millbrook, Cawsand and Kingsand are all within very easy reach.
The Rame Peninsular, also known as hidden Cornwall, is a designated area of outstanding natural beauty and has many wonderful hidden villages to explore. The Mount Edgecumbe estate can be found here which has wonderful grounds and gardens abutting the estuary and sea.
There are many fantastic places to eat out in the local area and these are detailed on our dedicated site.

A wonderful holiday at Ancarva - a really unique glass house with a beautiful timeless view. Every mod con, 5 star living and comfort all year round. We know the area as we have family nearby but found some new things to do. Enjoyed the Canteen - great breakfasts and the Marina Cafe - nice people. We visited Port Eliot House & Chapel and Mt Edgcumbe House (get a joint ticket - great value). Anyway we all had a great time and hope to return soon. P. S. great welcome goodies!

Ancarva stay
Beautiful villa; stunning location. Add to that a week of sunshine and our stay was as perfect as it could get. Really recommend both the accommodation which is amazing and the most incredible location. Definitely returning.

Beautiful House, Beautiful Location
We stayed at Ancarva during the summer and spent a week at this superb property. The house is situated in a lovely quiet location with stunning views over the tidal lake. The property is beautifully furnished and the owners have provided everything you need to enjoy your stay. The children really enjoyed crab fishing off the pontoon. The property comfortably sleeps 8, our group was 4 adults, 3 children. The local beaches are beautiful and the nearby Mount Edgcumbe Park has some lovely walks. Nice food in The Finnygook Inn nearby, Waitrose about 15 mins away and local smaller food shops in the centre of Millbrook.

A little Gem - Contemporary stylish accomodation
If you are looking for something special in Cornwall, Ancarva is a great choice.
We have been holidaying in cornwall with our 2 boys for the last 10 years and we are really fussy. However, this is by far the most stylish place we have stayed in. Its contemporary architecture and interiors, are also cosy and comfortable. Its all the finishing touches that make you feel at home immediately. The owners have carefully provided everything you could need to enjoy your stay and obviously take great pride in their property.
The Kitchen is fully equipped and is a great sociable place to hang out in, especially on a sunny afternoon with the patio doors opening out onto the large balcony overlooking the water - fantastic for cooking and entertaining or enjoying with extended family/friends.
The living room has large comfortable sofas to snuggle up on, with a large TV for family movies. There are also lots of Kids/adults board games/books/movies available - music system - internet. The lounge area is flooded with natural light as it has all glass windows and doors out onto a balcony, so you are able to enjoy the views. Watching the tide going in and out is fascinating as its unusual being so close to the water.
The bedrooms are all double size and spacious - lovely fresh linen and towels. We all slept really well, as its so wonderfully quiet - feeling calmer and more relaxed than when we arrived.
Its unique setting, right on the waters edge, with views over to the unspoilt forest and countryside, give such an amazing sense of space and seclusion. It is very well connected to conveniently explore cornwall, with whit sand bay, kings sand, Caw sand and the Mount Edgecombe estate all very close by an often overlooked part of Cornwall. We also travelled a little further afield to Port Isaac and Padstow on the North coast as well on this trip. On the rainy day under pressure from the kids we had a great afternoon of fun at plymouth Karting/laser tag which is only 30 mins away.
We stopped at the Salt Ash Waitrose on our way there, which is straight after the Tamar Bridge but we noticed a Waitrose van was doing a delivery to the Ancarva area which is helpful. There is a health store in the village of Millbrook which is really convenient.
The Canteen is a great casual dining cafe for breakfast or lunch and worth visiting as its only 5 minutes away.
Ankara is NEW - its a little gem and we absolutely loved it !

Mrs
Booked this last minute after seeing the pictures on the website. I went through the owner direct and they could not of been more helpful. We pulled up to find this absolutely stunning designer property sat on the edge of the bay, absolutely breathtaking. We walked inside and were blown away, from the decor to the personal touches. To wake up to the view in the morning melts the heart. I cannot fault this property. You need to stay and I guarantee a fantastic stay. We don't want to leave....

Stunning house in an Idylic setting
We stayed here with our family for Christmas and were amazed at how beautiful the house and location were.
The house is brand new and presented so nicely. The open plan living space is perfect for a family get together. The house has everything you could want for a relaxing family holiday. The views are spectacular being right on the waters edge with plenty of birds coming to feed.
We had an amazing Christmas and I can imagine that this would be perfect in every way for summer vacations. We will certainly be back worth every penny!
