Period 1890's terraced home located on a quite cobble street, featured in the Hovis advert in the 1970's . Hebden Bridge has been designated the 'Best Town in Britain for 2011' and 'The Quirkiest Town in Britain', and in 2016 'The Great British High Street Award' for a Market Town. The many walks available will take you quickly out of the valley, up the hillside and on to the moorlands as described in the Bronte Sisters' novels. The sense of community and hospitality is soon evident as you walk across the cobbled streets and meet the true Yorkshire folks and explore this historical, yet lively, and most liveable corner of England. Enjoy the many 'eateries' & drinkeries' the town has to offer... The smell of bacon sandwiches in the town square in the morning is something indefinable. Interaction with guests: Calderdale Terraces has been welcoming guests to Hebden Bridge since 2011, and we have several groups and family's that have stayed with us multiple times ... and for which we are most grateful. We are long distance landlords but we are most fortunate to have a close knit group of supporters locally who are always ready to offer a helping hand .. to explain the TV remote and thermostats or to offer suggestions and advise, no matter the subject. The house is located in the center of Hebden Bridge, just 3 minute walk from the town square and a 2 minute walk to the recently redeveloped Hebden Bridge town hall which is a great community asset.

Lovely holiday home with fantastic location
We really enjoyed our stay. The location was perfect for exploring Hebden Bridge on foot, and the surrounding areas by road or public transport. The house was spotlessly clean and the functionality of the layout suited our family of 5 really well. Our son rated this as his favourite holiday home ever and is already asking when we can go back and stay again!

Fabulous Stay
Our stay at Hebden Bridge was really great - the accommodation was spot on - can’t fault it - within 5 minutes walk of the centre of the town - within easy reach of everywhere we wanted to visit. The house was lovely, just like home from home and very well equipped. Would highly recommend it.

We had a lovely stay in Hebden Bridge. The house was really comfortable and had everything we needed. The best part for us was the proximity to the market square and the fabulous restaurants, shops and galleries. The host responded really promptly to any queries we had and was very friendly. I'd definitely recommend this cottage for anyone wanting to visit the area.

Cozy & comfortable with all the amenities!
I stayed here with my large family in August - five adults and a 9 month old baby. We were all very comfortable and had plenty of space to sleep, eat and spread out a bit. The host was very generous with a lovely food basket & some chocolates on our pillows. The whole home is kept very nicely. The beds are comfy and the bathrooms are bright and have heated towel rods!! They provide plenty of towels - they are not stingy like some holiday lets are! The kitchen is well outfitted with utensils etc for cooking, tea and coffee etc. The location is great - within walking distance of so many pubs we lost count. There is a local market, plenty of cute shops, a couple of grocery stores and coffee shops too in Hebden all also very close on foot. You can’t want for anything while you stay here! Make sure to catch the fry times at the local chippy and have a bacon butty at the local corner store. YUM! The house is close to the canals and a lovely park and plenty of walking trails up to the moors. There is lots to see!! If it’s raining... well I mentioned the pubs right? The train (station is also close on foot) will take you to the larger cities - Halifix, York, Leeds, Manchester etc if you feel you need to leave this gorgeous place! This let is definitely a 5/5. This is my 8th trip to this home and we will be back many more times! We highly recommend it.

Not quite what I was expecting
There were good and bad points to this rental property. The good - it's in an excellent location, just a few minutes from the centre and on the flat! It's also really quiet at night, in the day it's a bit strange having people frequently going past as the doors are frosted glass, especially with it being street facing front and back. But we were out most of the day anyway. It's comfortable with pretty much everything we needed for a long weekend. We also appreciated the French bread, tea, coffee and milk provided. Very convenient seeing as we were only there a short time. Now for the bad. Firstly, I e-mailed the housekeeper twice prior to our arrival to find out about getting the keys. No reply. I was actually getting a bit stressed about it as I'm an organised person and like to know these things in good time. A week beforehand I decided to phone but the number I was given was no longer in use and the mobile was switched off. I tried the owners in Canada but one number didn't exist and the other was just an answer phone. To be fair he did ring back and leave a message but by then I'd managed to speak to the housekeeper on her mobile. She said she would e-mail me the details, which she did, on the morning of my departure!! Not what I call a timely response. When we got to the property we went upstairs to unpack only to find that the door to the top floor (penthouse) was locked. We tried phoning the housekeeper who's phone was again switched off. It turns out because there were only 2 of us we only booked part of the property. There was nothing to imply this on the booking and the reason I booked in the first place was so we would have a double room each. My sister had to sleep in the single room which had no wardrobe or even a set of drawers, she had to keep her clothes in my room. Also, I'd advise taking an eye mask if you're sensitive to light. Luckily my sister had one in her case as the blinds are for privacy only and keep no light out. We did have a lovely break it's just a shame about the sleeping arrangements. I e-mailed the owner who apologised for not making it clear. Hopefully he will change the website to make it clear to anyone else booking for just 2 people! A very bizarre arrangement that I've never come across before and I've rented many self catering properties over the years.

Wonderful home-from-home, welcoming, beautiful and well situated.
I stayed at this house for a week with my partner and our two children (11 and 4). The house is spotlessly clean, equipped with everything we needed and also all the little things we might have needed - plasters, sewing kit, even a pressure cooker! The whole house is recently renovated (2010) so everything is in perfect working order. The renovations have been really tastefully done, so the 1860s character is not lost. The whole interior is cosy and welcoming without being twee in any way. Since it's only five minutes' walk from the centre of Hebden Bridge, it's incredibly convenient for stays with small children. The other bonus as far as that goes is how quiet the street is, there is no traffic noise whatsoever and I was more concerned about whether the neighbours could perhaps hear our noise as the children thundered up and down the stairs! All the communication we had with Paul the owner and Carolyn the 'manager' was fast, clear and really pleasant, and all my queries were fully answered within a couple of working days at most. As we were coming from Amsterdam, not having to bring towels or linen was a boon, and we were welcomed with made beds, fresh bread and milk in the fridge. Sometimes I have found holiday rentals don't feel like much of a holiday if you're a parent who also has to contend with a week in a house that might not have even the basics when you get there, but Calderdale Terraces is a super relaxing treat and we will definitely be going back.

I just wanted to say how much we enjoyed our stay at Calderdale Terraces for our honeymoon. The house was lovely and the location was perfect. I'm already hoping to book again for our anniversary next year, so I'm sure you'll hear from me again later in the year! HG Manchester April 2014

About the neighborhood
Hebden Bridge is nestled in center of Pennies and is at the confluence of the Calder and Hebden Rivers. The fast running waters and growth of local transportation links by road, canal, and rail gave birth to a bustling textile town. This industry declined after the 2nd world war and presented an opportunity for Hebden Bridge to reinvent itself whilst retaining its heritage as a truly Yorkshire community, but with the benefit of the architecture and infrastructure that this booming era bought to the town. Today Hebden Bridge has many attractions, from the abundance of coffee and tea shops to the many unique clothing, thrift, specialty and antique shops and many busy pubs and restaurants. Two private butchers, two private grocery shops, 3 bakeries, and art galleries plus many other privately operated business establishments catering to every taste. Just venture a short distance and the roads will lead to through wooded valleys to moorlands of Bronte Country and James Hertiot. The local award winning railway station is an important link in the community and allows travelers easy access to the major hubs of Leeds and Manchester. The main road allows access to the M62 motorway and to the rest of the motorway system and beyond by car, and if a more leisurely form of transportation is more your style, you can take a Longboat on the Rochdale Canal. The many public footpaths and moorlands make the local area a centre for walkers and hikers
Getting around
The transport links into Hebden Bridge are excellent. The train station is an easy 14 minute walk across the park. and is on the Manchester to Leeds line. Services to Manchester are every 15 to 20 mins during the day with a travel time of 35 minutes to Manchester, travel time to Leeds 45-55 minutes . Manchester Airport is some 65 Km and it is possible to travel by train in under 90 mins with one change in Manchester. Leeds Bradford airport is 50 minutes by car. Access to the UK motorway system is direct and with 3 or 4 access points depending upon your final destination. For a slower pace you can take a trip on canal boat !!! just a 5 minute walk away !!
