America's first Nostalgic Guesthouse, THE GOOD OL' DAYS HOUSE features memorabilia of decades past allowing guests to revisit the 1950s, 60s, & 70s with a walk down memory lane. It is a unique experience -- just like staying at Grandma's House when you were a kid, in the good ol days. Our home is located less than one minute from Interstate 70, and 25 miles south of the city of Pittsburgh, PA. There is plenty of casual and fine-dining choices nearby, plus a grocery store, a Dairy Queen, Antique Shop, Playground with Tennis Court, 2 Pizza shops, Bakery and plenty of Churches & friendly Taverns, all within 2-4 block walking distance on Broad Avenue. The rural, beautiful campus of California University of Pennsylvania is less than a 10 minute drive from our Nostalgic Guesthouse. Absolutely loved this house....It is so interesting and a wonderful experience...The winery ten minutes away is very nice, and we enjoyed that...You could just spend the whole weekend in the house looking at everything...

Last year, my wife and I stayed at the Happy Days Hideaway behind this house, and thought it was amazing. This year, we graduated to the Good Ol' Days House. And "graduated" is an appropriate word. We are both from Belle Vernon, and had scheduled this house for the weekend of our class reunion. We were going to share the cost with two other out-of-town couples. When the reunion was cancelled due to Covid, we talked about it and decided to keep our reservation and come into town anyway - one of the best decisions we've ever made. Nobody was traveling from out of town, so we invited some local classmates and decided to have a mini reunion right there at the house. We arrived Friday, and spent the better part of 2-3 hours reminiscing and going through the items and artifacts that make this house so special. It was especially amazing for us, as we knew many of the people/places represented in the house, both of us having grown up within four miles.. For instance, my wife's grandfather was the principal at the local high school back in the 30's. She found a diploma on the wall that he had signed. One classmate was looking around on Saturday and found a class picture from his father's graduating class. His father had passed away when he was just 13, so that was a poignant moment. One of the yearbooks on the coffee table featured eight kids who grew up on my street. But even without the local connection, you will find things here that will bring the past to life. I will guarantee that you will find something in each room that your grandparents owned - no matter where you grew up. It's such a comfortable feeling. Our mini-reunion couldn't have been better. Let's face it - reunions are about remembering the past, and the Good Ol' Days house was the penultimate stage to do so. Our full reunion is expected to be scheduled next summer, and my wife and I are already planning on booking it again the moment the reunion committee releases the date!

Our stay at the Nostalgic Guest House was phenomenal! It was the perfect retreat for our visit to the Pittsburgh area. The house was clean and well kept. Our boys (8 & 10) loved the house and the freedom to play in the back yard. It was like sleeping in a museum for them --getting to play all the old games and experience the finer things from the "good ol' days". We can't say enough about Melanie and Bob. They went above and beyond during our stay - leading us to the Steelers game, touring us around. They helped make our family celebration a memorable one.

Thank goodness for finding Good Ol' Days Guesthouse! My husband had to come to the Pittsburgh area for business and wanted to bring the whole family along so we could have some family fun in his down time. We looked for hours at hotels in the area and not only were they very expensive, but we would have had to book two separate rooms for my family of six. We were just about to give up searching, when I came across Good Ol' Days Guesthouse. What a treat! The owners, both Melanie and her husband were so friendly & accommodating. They made sure that every aspect of our stay was perfect, from the local bakery goods that they left for us to enjoy, to the slinky gifts that they purchased for each of my four children to keep. Everything about our stay here was first rate. Good Ol' Days Guesthouse really is a blast from the past! As for my husband and myself, we were taken back in time by all of the decor and memorabilia. We also loved the comfortable beds there. My children absolutely loved hanging out in the cool basement/game room, where they learned how to play an old style pinball game and also how records work! Now, as if that wasn't enough, several months after staying here Melanie found a new watch in a case and called every recent tenant until finding the owner of this watch. It was my sons, and Melanie was kind enough to send it to us, asking nothing in return. I cannot thank her enough for her top notch customer service and her kindness. I would highly recommend a stay at Good Ol' Days Guesthouse to anyone and everyone that is coming to the area. I know that if we ever come the Pittsburgh area again, this is only place we would want to stay!

Just a quick note to say that my wife, kids and I had a wonderful time staying at Melanie's guest house. The house was decorated in the old styles (great memories for me) and the basement was fantastic for the kids, with all the old games, stadium seats, and sensory overload with all the cool pictures and items to look at. The big backyard was put to great use, as well.
