Engadine cottage is your private getaway. Situated on 3 hectares of farm and bush land the cottage has amazing mountain views with the nature on your doorstep. Self contained with facilities to self cater, we provide the basics such as tea, coffee, milk and bread. All you have to do is relax. Friendly farm animals and inquisitive wildlife are your companions while the major attractions of Mole Creek Caves, Cradle Mountain and the Great Western Tiers are all within day touring range. Please plan to stay several nights as just one won't be enough.

Beautiful Bed and Breakfast in Country Tasmania! A real gem!
The whole experience was amazing. A very secure and well appointed, super clean facility. The hosts were very kind, helpful and generous. We would highly recommend the cottage as a great getaway and a place to rest and recuperate. We stayed for just three days but would have loved to have stayed longer. It can be used for work retreats as well as family retreats and the surroundings are breathtakingly beautiful. Thank you for the fresh bread and home-made jam and fresh milk in the fridge as the many soft touches were gratefully appreciated. 2020 had been quite a challenging year for us and we found your facility to be a beautiful haven of peaceful beauty. Thank you and we wish you the very best in 2021.

Quaint cottage with beautiful surrounds
Our family had a lovely and relaxing stay at Engadine, complete with mountain views. It is an enchanting location and the kids thoroughly enjoyed it too, especially the trampoline and goats! Lyn’s bread and jam were delicious too. There is quite a bit to do in the area including bushwalking and caving. It is also well worth dropping into the Wandering Trout Brewery that has great locally brewed beer and tapas.

Peaceful, great views - and stars!
Engadine Cottage, named after the Sydney suburb, is nothing like Sydney - no noise, no traffic, no crowds. Just gorgeous.
I live in Hobart, where because of the intense glare of the city lights we can only see a few of the brightest stars. Tasmania is not known for clear skies, so we stayed for three nights, hoping for the best. The third night was worth the wait. The Milky Way, invisible in Hobart, was there in all its glory. Even faint constellations could be seen on that wonderfully dark night. It would be an astonishing sight for a child. For that sight alone, lost for generations in Hobart, it was well worth the trip.
During the day, families will find the nearby Trowunna Wildlife Sanctuary fascinating with its Tasmanian devils, quolls, wallabies, wombats and raptors. There are caves nearby that are well worth a visit, although you might want to book a day ahead for a tour. Just a few minutes drive away from the cottage is the Alum Cliffs lookout walk, a short, well made walk to a well constructed lookout, possible even for older folk like me.
Even if you don't wander around the many attractions near Mole Creek, you can just enjoy the well appointed cottage with its view of the central plateau high country across the valley to the south and the trees to the north. For children, there is space to run around and goats to feed. There is no traffic - only one house is beyond the cottage on the road and that's the owners' house. We always saw animals on the road driving from Mole Creek to the cottage. We had no trouble with the heating - we just pressed the start button.
We'll be back.

Engadine cottage
Lovely location and cosy bed however--bleak cold ambience only one wall heater which only gave heat to limited area.No supplementary heating units.Only bright lighting in living area could do with some smaller lights for reading.Cooker no instructions for use could not fathom it out so no hot food for our stay(we don't use a microwave)
No contact with owners even before or after our departure.
Have stayed in different cottages in the area many times over many years and unfortunately this has been a non memorable stay.

A winner
The cottage was a absolute surprise with everything and more supplied.Comfortable and felt like home.The owners have nailed this place it to a tee.The views were magnificent with stunning sunsets over the mountains.Very peaceful with the only noise being the birds and the beautiful bumble bees which we dont have in WA.
Great location to explore the area and come back to enjoy a bbq and quite drink in the garden. Loved it and will return.Thanks to our hosts Haydn and Lyn who were lovely enough to share this wonderful little gem,
