Gorgeous cottage in a beautiful setting
Just spent 3 nights in this wonderful cottage with lovely gardens in a beautiful location. The friendly and helpful hosts Mary and Michael went out of their way to make us feel at home, including supplying great breakfast goodies and more linen than we could ever use. The cottage has everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay and lots of interesting things inside. Michael gave us lots of information about places of interest as well. I hope I can come back in another season to experience it all again.

Such kindness from Mary: Thank you
I am not leaving a review about my stay as unfortunately I had to cancel due to COVID hitting hard. Mary (the host of this lovely place) was so kind and understanding during very difficult circumstances for not only myself - but also no doubt herself with the hospitality industry being hit again and again with such uncertainty and therefore vacant rooms. A huge thank you Mary. We will visit Annie's Cottage one day!

Gorgeous garden setting for a beautiful stay in Kurrajong
Our hosts, Michael & Mary, were outstanding in attending to our needs for our stay. Michael was most helpful in directing us around the district where we were visiting places important in our family history from early 1800's.His suggestions for dinner outings were excellent. Mary had welcomed us with a lovely sponge cake on our arrival, and we had an excellent breakfast with them. Walking in the garden and listening to the birds (lots of bellbirds, and a great gang of black cockatoos in morning) were a special treat for my partner, my brother and myself in Kurrajong.

On Sept 30th my daughter and her fiancé along with another couple booked Trafalgar B&B for their wedding night. The bride (only, no attendants) was to get changed here, have some photos taken and then my husband and I were driving her to her small garden wedding. On arrival at Trafalgar my husband said to me I think we have found a lovely weekend retreat. Ten minutes after we arrived I had an irate owner approach me saying they were not expecting a bride. ??? He became quite aggressive, I apologized for the misunderstanding and asked if we could go somewhere private as my daughter was becoming unset. On entering another room his wife Mary almost attacked me saying we didn’t know we were having a bride; I would have put flowers on the tables. If you are having photos taken in my garden I want payment. Again I apologised for the misunderstanding. She then asked if we were dressing there. I said my husband and I are changing our cloths in my daughter’s room. Mary said no! I want $150 cash for the use of my garden and you can use the red room. Ok, she wanted payment for the use of her garden $50 would have been reasonable but $150 just to change my dress was total extortion. I had little choice but to pay their demand  as I was not going to let these greedy people ruin my daughter’s Wedding day. I guess my husband and I are still looking for that weekend retreat

This is one situation no B&B wants to find themselves in . Our sincere apologies to the brides mother if we sounded aggressive this really is not our way at all . We were prepared for 2 couples only ,no mention was made about a bride her photographer or the parents of the bride. We are very reasonable people and will go out of our way to do whatever we can to make our guests welcome and comfortable. We do charge brides to use our garden for photos. We made an offer of refreshments as we do to all our guests, we also provided our bathroom facilities including fresh towels, our best room was given to the mother and father of the bride to use as their dressing area. In closing, had prior arrangements been made we would have been prepared for the bridal party.Despite this, we reiterate our sincere apologies.

delightful place, perfect hosts
A very confortable cottage, beautifully furnished with everything you need. The view from the rear balcony is lovely, as is the garden at the front. A perfect location for birdwatching, if that's your thing. Michael and Mary were very friendly, thoughtful and helpful. We loved staying at Annie's cottage.

Tranquil and delightful
We stayed at Trafalgar for three nights over the June long weekend. Initially, we were a little hesitant to be staying on the 'other' side of the mountains, not being certain we'd have enough to do in Kurrajong for the time. And, being more accustomed to staying in hotels and guest houses, venturing into B&B land also felt a little brave. We needn't have been concerned. There was plenty to see and do in the Hawkesbury area, in Bilpin and at Mt Tomah, and the B&B experience was delightful. Our room was large, the bed comfortable, the bathroom well appointed, and the entire property pristine and beautifully decorated. There was a shared sitting room down the hallway (shown in the photos) and the gardens and surrounds were gorgeous and filled with native birdlife. Even in Winter. But the highlight were our hosts, Michael and Mary. They simply could not do enough for us. Thank goodness it was only three hearty breakfasts we were to endure under their tender ministrations. Hand made sausages. Home cooked frittata. Beetroot infused salmon and scrambled eggs. Groan! My partner was flinching and trembling as breakfast was brought forth on the final morning, his weak will no match for Mary's deft cookery. The B&B experience worked well for us - we were looking for a quiet retreat, didn't mind driving 10 min down the road for dinner, and were not wedded to having a television in our room (there wasn't one). For the traveller looking to get away from it all, to relax in the welcoming embrace of incredible hosts, to enjoy beautiful surroundings and disgracefully delightful breakfasts, look no further than this beautiful B&B. We loved it.

What an incredible an wonderful home and couple. Mary and Michael are so open and warm it is a definite that we will be coming to visit the luxurious, brilliant grounds again. What more could we ask of a BnB, instead of just a place to sleep, you are greeted warmly by the couple, and if your lucky their guard cat Oscar outside, and are treated as if you were royalty. We loved our experience and not only are we sharing this home with our friends but we will without a doubt be returning again. Thank you Mary and Michael for a short but memorable experience. three days in nirvana
A veritable Aladdins cave of visual delights nestled in natural bushland with clear mountain air and breathtaking views. The secluded location providing a serene ambiance allowing a tranquility of mind and body so sought after in todays hectic world. The conviviality of the owners hightens the experience and I want to return again soon. An old world atmosphere blended with modern conveniences .

Glorious setting tucked away in hills near Richmond
If you don't mind driving a few more minutes up the road to Trafalgar B&B and Annie's Cottage next to it, it is well worth a stay. Trafalgar B&B is run by Mary who also runs Annie's Cottage next to it. The garden and the scenery are glorious, the flowers and the garden as magnificent, and Trafalgar B&B is just beautiful. It has been so tastefully decorated and whether you are an individual, group or family, you would love this setting. You can stay overnight or a longer stay and there are plenty of areas to walk around and enjoy the scenery. Mary has done a wonderful job decorating both the main residence and the cottage - it is like finding a little bit of England in the hills north of Richmond near Sydney. A lovely breakfast is provided and Trafalgar B&B has a room with 3 beds, also one double room, and also a family room - all are upstairs with their own privacy. Well worth the few extra minutes drive up the hill from Richmond.
