To ensure maximum hygiene, all surfaces are cleaned and sanitised between guests, and all bedding--including pillows, quilt, and mattress protector are changed.
The guest accommodation is totally separate from our own.
We always respect the privacy of our guest's, however interaction can be as much, or as little as needed. We are friendly hosts.
Excellent value for money for a self-contained suite comprising bedroom, washroom, sitting room. There's a lovely back garden as well with patio table and chairs if the weather's warm (which it wasn't for me). I did however get outside for a couple of lovely countryside hikes right from the property: one to the picturesque riverside village of Newton Solney and another loop through Bretby village. The friendly hosts leave you to your own devises, but are on hand should you need anything. Thanks David & Sue.

An excellent stay
My wife and I booked 5 nights for a little getaway and arranged to arrive late into the evening which our hosts were happy to accommodate.
The property was immaculately clean and everything we needed was available.
We were given plenty of privacy throughout and found David and Sue charming, conversation with them was enjoyable , all COVID recommendations were followed.
We would not hesitate to stay at this location again.

Wonderfully Cosy
Having been working away and also late at night, Dave and Sue made me feel more than welcome!
From towels on the bed (which is very comfy I might add) to a cosy living room at the rear of the house all to myself.
Everything you could want for your stay is there.
One thing in particular which I thought was excellent was a small welcome book/pack that gave you information from who Dave and Sue are to local ammenities and attractions (& instructions for the shower!!)
Can’t wait to stay again and would highly recommend to anybody wishing to stay in the Burton-Upon-Trent Area.

A great place to stay
Lovely accommodation with everything you need... cosy, comfy bedroom, own bathroom, toiletries, own sitting room with tv, fridge, kettle, toaster, microwave, etc. Very comfortable and excellent value.

About the neighborhood
Located centrally in the National Forest we are in a quiet and peaceful semi-rural position, on the edge of the Staffordshire, Derbyshire border, yet close to town. This is an ideal spot to explore the Derbyshire peaks, or for visiting any of Staffordshire's major tourist attractions (such as Alton Towers, the National Memorial Arboretum, and St George's Park), and is ideal for ramblers, business travellers, and holidaymakers alike, however, connectivity could be difficult without own transport.
Getting around
We have had a number of guests turn up without a car. We would reiterate that being semi rural, if you do need to get around, you will need your own transport, otherwise a taxi is very expensive. The buses run between Burton and Derby every hour through out the day.

Our home is just 11 miles from the M42, and 20 miles from the M1. The A38 and the M40 are also main artuaries to Burton.
