The late 19th century barn (with its red tiled roof) lies about 1 mile from Evercreech, on the outskirts of the farming hamlet of Stoney Stratton. The area is very rural, predominantly dairy farming, with rolling hills and rich pasture all around. There are many local footpaths and lovely walks can be managed right from the doorstep.
Wells,Glastonbury and The Bath and West showground are close by, while Bristol, Bath, Longleat, Stourhead are all within a forty minutes drive.
The barn was converted 15 years ago retaining much of its original character, while providing a high standard of comfort. It sleeps four plus a cot and suits families or couples wanting to explore Somerset or enjoy the peace of the countryside

The last building in a quiet village looking out over the fields. Everything we needed was in the converted barn and we ate in all the time. We had a great stay with some lovely walks. Richard was easy to contact and very helpful.

We stayed here for a week at the end of June. We received a warm welcome to a barn that had everything you could wish for in terms of venue, equipment and locality. The personal greeting, flowers and refreshments made for a homely feel.

Thank you Cherie for your kind words. We are just glad that you enjoyed your stay in Red Tiles and found everything there that you needed. You will be welcome to return any time!
We booked Red Tiles for 2 nights while my husband and son were mountain biking at Windhill. The property is beautifully located and the welcoming party of 2 very inquisitive alpacas in the neighbouring field an added bonus. The barn itself was perfect for our...More

Red Tiles is within easy reach of many good attractions. The Royal Bath and West Showground, home to one of the largest agricultural shows in the country as well as numerous other events is less than two miles away.
Longleat Safari Park and Attractions are less than half and hour away, as are Stourhead House and Gardens. Other National Trust properties close by are Montacute and Lytes Cary.
The coast may seem like a long way but is in easy reach via direct trains between Castle Cary and Weymouth with its wonderful sandy beach.
There are good local pubs and restaurants in local villages, some of which are listed in a booklet at the property and a Spa Hotel, Bannatyne's Charlton House is only a couple of miles away.
Bath and Bristol with all their attractions are only a forty five minute ...
Getting around
This is a rural hideaway which means that transport links are minimal and that a car is needed to venture out to see the many attractions nearby.
An infrequent bus route goes through Evercreech (3/4 mile away) while Castle Cary, 4 miles away has a mainline train station.
