The Barn enjoys magnificent views across hills, woods and valleys. It is a comprehensively-equipped, 4-Star Gold, eco-friendly, centrally-heated property accommodating 8 guests + cots in four bedrooms (two en-suite doubles, a twin and an additional superking, which can be converted to a twin) and an additional family bathroom. The adjoining Barn Owl Cottage sleeps 5 in a double, a twin and a single, and has 2 bathrooms. The properties can be rented separately or together.

About the neighborhood
Our nearest pub, the Lowtrow Cross Inn, is just a mile away. It is friendly and offers good pub grub, as does The George in Brompton Regis, 4 miles away. Dulverton has a number of great restaurants, pubs and tea rooms, the best including Woods Bar, Tantivity, The Bridge and the Thai restaurant, Tongdam. For shopping for provisions, Dulverton has a good Co-Op, but Tiverton, 11 miles away, has big Morrisons and Tesco stores. Tescos will deliver online orders, as will Sainsburys and Waitrose (we are happy to unpack your shopping for your before you arrive).
While we are definitely far from the madding crowd here, there is a great deal to see, do and explore; certainly enough for one lifetime.

How to get there
The most straightforward route is to follow the A358 from Taunton to Bishops Lydeard and then take the B3224/3190 to Upton. Once in Upton, passing the Lowtrow Cross Inn and your right and the church on your left, you take the right turn at the end of the village, signposted Brompton Regis. After a clutch of 5 cottages either side of a hump-back bridge, and up the hill on the other side, Rainsbury House is the first property on the left. There is a no through road sign on the wall at the entrance to the property, so you can't miss it. If you are travelling from other directions, contact us and we will give you alternative directions. Most SatNavs will bring you to our door.
