Walkers are spoilt for choice here with beach, riverside and forest walks as well as long distance paths to join - St Cuthbert's Way, Southern Upland Way and the Berwick Coastal Path.
Cyclists will enjoy the quiet country roads and can follow the coastal section of the NCN1 or the NCN68 (Pennine Cycleway).
Golf - the nearest is the Open Championship qualifier course at Goswick (10 minutes) and a wide choice of other courses within half an hour's drive include Bamburgh, the Hirsel at Coldstream, Duns, and the clifftop course at Eyemouth. Up to an hour's drive takes you to Muirfield, North Berwick, Dunbar and many others.
Fishing - world famous salmon fishing on the River Tweed as well as the Rivers Till, Teviot and Whiteadder. Trout fishing at Chatton, Coldingham Loch and the Whinney Loch. Sea fishing available from several local harbours.
Wildlife abounds here and bird-watching is renowned. Water sports and horse-riding can also be enjoyed locally.

Places of interest to visit nearby include the famous Border town of Berwick-upon-Tweed with its Elizabethan walls, Alnwick Castle and Gardens, country houses including Manderston and Paxton, Bamburgh Castle, Holy Island and Lindisfarne Castle, Chillingham, Cragside Estate at Rothbury, Seahouses and boat trips to the Farne Islands. Head for Ford and Etal (10 minutes) to visit a restored corn mill and maybe take a trip on the seasonal steam light railway or to visit Flodden Battlefield. An hour's drive will take you to Hadrian's Wall or the Scottish Border towns and you can easily visit Edinburgh or Newcastle by train from Berwick.
