Booked this house through Airbnb after a different stay fell through and we couldn’t believe our luck! Very spacious but cosy at the same time with everything you could possibly need. We are 3 parts of an extended family and there was plenty of room for everyone and two dogs. I thought because the house was so large it might not of been thoroughly clean but it was absolutely spotless you just could not fault it. Power showers in every bathroom which were all modern. Fabulous walks nearby too. It was the perfect stay. Thank you to Cath who took our late booking. Amazing!

Fantastic house
A fantastic house in a wonderful setting for a family gathering. The house was perfect, large and spacious whilst being comfortable and friendly. The warm aga and open fires in sitting room/snug were much need after some very wet walks.
We had lots of children with us and house and garden were great for them (fab hide and seek!). The house also provided a little luxury for the adults such as the free standing bath with views down the valley and very comfortable beds.
The kitchen is well equipped with everything you could need. Only thing missing was some plastic beakers for the children.
Catherine is a great host and thank you for providing the extra bed for us. She shared some good walks/ river access with us and after saying hello to check everything was ok she left us to it.
We highly recommend the Punch Bowl inn 5 min walk away for a meal.
We are already planning our return to Hazel Brow!

Wonderful stay!
We stayed here for five nights as a group of friends and family. The location is excellent, in a small village with decent pub and lots of places to walk. We took our dogs and they loved it!
The house itself has a lovely feel and the principal rooms have fantastic views over the valley below.
We were surprised by the amount of equipment in the kitchen, we didn’t need to take much with us at all, there was even good salt and pepper!
The open fire and Aga were two things we really enjoyed having, they added to the atmosphere to the place.
This is a great place to escape to, especially if you’re looking for a big house to enjoy with a large party. There’s no mobile phone signal and the WiFi is ok for the odd email and text but that’s about it, it really is a good getaway from it all.
We will definitely return and thank you Catherine for being a fabulous host.

Beautiful and spacious house with great views
I stayed here with my family in September and we had a great time - the location is ideal for hiking and cycling and the house itself is very comfortable. There is a freestanding bath with amazing views over the valley. Catherine was very helpful and forwarded on some post that arrived for me after we left - thank you very much, highly recommended!

Fantastic location
Wonderful week in glorious countryside - ideal for walking. Fantastic terrace with lovely views of the valley. Spacious house with well equipped kitchen. Used the very handy Little White Bus which runs right past the house, between Richmond and Keld. Just one small downside - parking access pretty steep and lumpy. Would definitely visit again.

Thanks for the lovely review, so glad you enjoyed the walking holiday. You should come back again now - we've some lovely Autumn walks - how about a mid week deal! Also thanks for the comments about the lumps in the access to parking, all sorted now (but it's still steep)!!

All star house, all star views - all star fun
This was our second time staying at Hazel Brow and we continue to love the house and truly appreciate Cath’s hospitality! The setting is both relaxing and stunning and the village is a great point for walks and drinks in the pub.
Cath kindly allowed our daughter to feed the Alpacas- an absolute treat!
During our stay, we hosted a family picnic on the lawn. Highly recommend Guy Fairhurst catering for a dinner or an event. Also, used the Aga to slow cook lamb - YUM
We can’t wait to return!

Walking holiday
We stayed for a week and had a fabulous time. The house is in a beautiful location and stunning walks are available in the immediate environment. The house has all the facilities you could need and is very comfortable. We were a group of 13 people, including 2 children, and found it very homely and welcoming.

Lovely place to get away!
Hazel Brow was an amazing place to get away for the week! We had a lovely time exploring the area on the many footpaths through the hills and fields. Cath was very welcoming and on hand to answer any questions we had. The house was clean and had all the amenities you'd need to hide away comfortably. And the master bathroom! Wow! With a claw foot bath tub overlooking the Hazel Brow Farm, it really was the perfect spot to relax after a long day of hiking the hills. If you're looking for some peace, quiet, and nature time, this is the place for you. A truly lovely experience.

We are equally distant from the market towns of Leyburn, Richmond, Hawes and Barnard Castle with their quaint shops, castles and local food outlets. Within a 12 mile radius you can be at Tan Hill, England's Highest pub, Hardraw Force, England's highest waterfall. Close by you'll find the deserted abbeys of Jervaulx, Fountains, Rievaulx and Easby.
Getting around
We're in a quiet rural location but are fortunate to have an excellent community transport network. The Little White Bus runs a shuttle service up and down the Dale:- an excellent way to head upstream to the village of Keld and walk back down the valley, following England's fastest flowing river, as it tumbles it's way through amazing scenery and past quaint villages and hamlets. Stop off for lunch or refreshments at the village pub in Muker or Gunnerside.
