Lovely house in a great town
We spent four nights at Heron House and are very impressed. The house has recently been renovated and everything has been done to a very high standard. And the house is spotlessly clean.

Ealing Eight
Eight friends away to celebrate New Year. We all love to walk and Heron House was perfect for access to the coastal walks in both directions. Shops only a minute away - buses to Canterbury very convenient too. We loved the harbour and wee willie winkles fish, oysters and chips - smashing. We had 2 cars and I would recommend the option of renting the driveway 2 doors away. House was very comfortable and very well equipped. The owner met us on arrival and showed us how everything worked. Very useful. Everything was there - we only needed our food and clothes!!

Amazing experience from start to finish!!
Our last day of our amazing 7 week stay in Heron House. We are so sad to leave and can't begin to say how enjoyable our visit has been to Whitstable. Heron House itself has truly been a home from home with everything provided we could possibly need in a perfect location to sample everything that Whitstable has to offer. From the moment we booked, the lovely owner Julie was extremely friendly and bent over backwards to ensure we had everything we needed for our stay and provided a lovely tray full of delicious cheeses and biscuits on our arrival to welcome us. Having our two large dogs with us we fully expected to be severely limited with where we could visit but Whitstable is SO dog friendly! Our dogs went everywhere with us!! We will certainly miss our many walks along the beaches to Seasalter and Tankerton, always with lunch, a slice of cake or dinner at the end to reward us for our efforts in the huge selection of dog friendly restaurants and coffee shops. Our absolute favourites for coffee and light bites were Elliots and No.15 in Whitstable and Jo Jo's in Tankerton have the most AMAZING cakes!! Dinner choices were only slightly limited because of our two furry friends but I can definitely recommend The Marine Hotel in Tankerton, The Hotel Continental and The Pearsons Arms all of which welcomed dogs with open arms. I also can't not mention the fantastic Local pub the Coach and Horses which became our usual Friday night haunt. The barman and locals were brilliant and Flo our bulldog became a little bit of a celebrity pub dog, wandering around asking for a stroke from anybody who was willing. Our nights here normally ended with a stroll down to the local Chinese The Four Seasons, or Indian, The Star of Bengal for a takeaway both of which served delicious food. I can't say enough good things about both our wonderful accommodation and Whitstable as a town. Even in the depths of winter it didn't fail to enchant us. We loved it so much we are even considering a permanent move there...now if that isn't an endorsement nothing is!!

Feeling like home in Whitstable
My parents, our two Labradors and I spent one week in Whitstable and Heron House was the perfect place to stay. We felt very comfortable and homelike. The house is well equipped and nicely done up. Mrs. FitzGerald Vitelli was quite friendly - via Email and in person – welcoming us with a tray of small, partly local, delicacies. Moreover, the garden with its furniture invites for long dinners and conversations. It also is a great place for the dogs to sleep and play. All in all Heron House is absolutely recommendable, we had a really nice time!

Excellent all round.
Heron House was extremely comfortable and well-kitted out. We had a lovely welcome from Julie, the owner, and the location in town was perfect - just off the high street with very easy access to the seafront. It was a real home-from-home. We enjoyed cooking in the kitchen and there was good communal and 'alone' space.

Great place to enjoy Whitatable
The weather was sunny all week so we were on to a winner from the start. Heron House is immaculate and spacious. There were only 5 of us (3 generations) plus a dog so there was plenty of room to relax and enjoy this beautifully restored Edwardian (late Victorian?) house which tastefully blends period feel with modern hi tech. Could not fault the house in any detail. My elderly mother found the short walks to either the shops or the beach convenient. Archie the bulldog, apart from sunbathing in the garden, loved the walk up the hill , along the causeway splitting the golf course, a drink of water and a rest at Windy Corner Stores and then home. it was telling that the town was of sufficient interest and the house so enjoyable that we did not use the car all week. If we come back to Whitstable, Heron House would be our first choice.

Fabulous location, beautiful interiors and everything you could need for a home from home experience.
From the start Julie was easy to contact, replied to queries quickly and made the whole booking process clear. We were greeted at the house, given a brief run through and then the holiday started! Everything you need to have a great holiday could be found in the house, - it really felt like someones home that we could relax in. The finish is very high end, with a feeling of luxury throughout. Whitstable town is on the doorstep with bike rental, places to visit and quirky independent shops just a walk away. All in all a great place to stay and good value for money too.

Beautiful town house property in an ideal location
This is a wonderful property for so many reasons; Customer Service - Julie the property owner was a delight to deal with. We were sent all the information we required in advance of our stay, and given a tour of the property on our arrival. Property - Beautifully decorated throughout to a high standard. There is a pretty enclosed private garden directly outside of the kitchen which has a large summer house. We ate outside at every opportunity. Lovely to sit at night with a drink or a cup of tea in the morning. We took our two small dogs so having this outdoor area was ideal. Everything you need to self-cater is in the property from kitchen utensils and pans to towels for the beach. Free-view TV and a great Wi-Fi connection. Location - The property is just off the main high street so perfect for exploring Whitstable without having to move the car. A charming and pretty small town it offers everything you could need with lovely restaurants, food stores, chemist, bars, off licence and a wide range of independent stores to browse. Parking - There is one car park space to the rear of the property with a gate directly into the garden so no time is spent paying parking machines or searching for a space. Surrounding Area - We visited Belmont House, Canterbury, Margate, Ramsgate, Hever Castle and Whitstable (I would recommend a walk to Tankerton along the sea front). And could easily have filled another week with places we didn't get to. Dog Friendly - The area and property is very dog friendly.

Mrs
Second time we have stayed in this beautiful house. The position of it, right by the coast and town, with municipal tennis courts and a golf club tucked behind, means it's a rare find. The quality of the house and furnishings is beautiful and the layout of the kitchen/ family room created a great sociable space. Julie has given a great deal of thought to details. Even providing bath toys for babies. A great time was had by all. Many thanks Julie.

Beautiful family house
We stayed at Heron House over Christmas. Very spacious even for 7 people and absolutely beautifully presented. Not only are the furnishings of top quality, but so is the linen, towels, bathroom essentials etc. etc., and also the best lovely warm duvets. The kitchen is superbly equipped with anything that you might require even for a majestic Christams lunch. Julie had even decorated the house with tree and tasteful Xmas trimmings. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble. Well located close to the beach and the town centre Heron House is suitable for summer walks along the beach and winter trips to the local hostelries. Not the time of year to make too much use of the delightful summer house and barbeque. Little dog Fidel loved it too. Highly recommended and we will be going back!!
