A lovely spacious cottage for two people. It's 2 miles from Ewyas Harold on the edge of the Golden Valley, with great views over gorgeous rolling countryside towards the Welsh Border. Just perfect for a peaceful getaway, with walks galore and good food on your doorstep. The cottage used to be a working pottery, hence its name, and there are some wonderful old features, like oak beams and exposed stone work that give it buckets of character. It's a bit of a Tardis inside too, with a good sized kitchen, bathroom (with shower over a bath), upstairs bedroom and a large sitting room. The Pottery has a homely feel with all the usual mod cons, though please note, there's no Wifi - so a real chance to escape from it all! The bedroom is up a small flight of stairs - downstairs there's the kit...A lovely spacious cottage for two people. The bedroom is up a small flight of stairs - downstairs there's the kitchen, bathroom with a bath (and a shower over the bath), and a spacious sitting room. There's parking next to the cottage and it shares a mature, colourful garden with the owner's home. Rowlestone's small picturesque Norman church, with its renowned stone carvings is right next door, and the biggest treat of all (March-October) is you can buy ice-cream next door at Rowlestone Court Farm. Seriously good!! No need to travel far to eat out either - Ewyas Harold is just 5 minutes drive and has two pubs serving food, as well as a popular Fish and Chip shop. There's also a village store, Post Office and two Butchers. Rowlestone is a great base to explore the wonderful Wye Valley - and the Forest of Dean and Brecon Beacons are within easy reach too. If you want a change from wide open spaces, then why not take a trip to the Cathedral city of Hereford (25 mins), or Abergavenny with its bustling markets (25 mins), the pretty border town of Monmouth (35 mins), or beautiful, book-tastic Hay-on-Wye! (45 mins). And if you fancy going a little further afield, Bristol, Cardiff, Chepstow, Worcester and Cheltenham are all within easy reach. More

Lovely cosy cottage for two in a wonderfull, peacefull rural location. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming. The cottage is well placed to explore the English/Welsh border countryside, either on foot or by car.
