'I've seen and stayed in many big houses…but rarely have I seen somewhere where everything has been thought of….. It's perfect for a get together of family and friends.' Review of The Hyde by Travel Editor, The Times, 20 September 2014 The Hyde is a house with lots of history, perfect for family get-togethers, annual reunions or corporate away days, It is a wonderfully restored Grade II* medieval Hall House, packed full of original features, beautifully furnished and very comfortable. There is masses of entertaining space with a dining room in the medieval hall that can seat 20, a huge well equipped kitchen and two sittings rooms. It is set in 1200 acres of beautiful , unspoilt Herefordshire countryside up a mile-long private drive. Ideal for a celebration or idyllic get away. About the neighborhood
The Hyde is in the Kyre valley, a mile up its own drive. You can't see another house or hear a car - an idyllic getaway. The area is justifiably famous for its beautiful countryside, delicious local food (Herefordshire beef, asparagus, strawberries, cider and much more) and variety of things to do locally, from exploring castles, to great walking, antique hunting in the picturesque towns or just sitting and enjoying the peace and quiet.
Getting around
A car is required if you want to go elsewhere during your stay, although many of our guests don't bother, as there is so much to do at The Hyde. If you do want to explore further afield, you will need a car.
