Seaside Cottage is located at the far west of Clacton on Sea, a two minute walk from Jaywick Sands beach and a five minute drive from the main Clacton resort centre.
This cosy cottage provides modern, comfortable accommodation in which to relax and unwind with long walks long the beach. Ideal for dog owners as the beach is dog-friendly all year. It provides a convenient base from which to explore Clacton on Sea and the surrounding Essex and Suffolk history/countryside
Seaside Cottage provides a comfortable value get-away. For larger groups book our other properties too, also advertised on TripAdvisor - Beach Cottage and Sandy Cottage.

The bungalow was clean and finished to a high standard The garden was private. There was a short walk to the beach. The access road had big potholes so a 4x4 would be an advantage.

seaside cottage
A charming chalet. Compact and enclosed garden. Everything is in the chalet that you would need for your stay. The chalet was very clean and warm. It had a comfy bed and pillows. All bedding was included at it is cotton .Lovely beach approx. 2min walk.

lovely clean and welcoming cottage
Seaside cottage was a lovely place to stay and very close to the beach. It was clean and tidy at a nice garden area for our 7 and half month old puppy to play in. The local pub and shop owners were very friendly. Although there wasn't many shops around where we were it was ideal for what we wanted and not far from Clacton.We would definitely stay there again.

Lovely, well eqipped little cottage
I stayed here with my daughter and very boisterous dog, Barlow the Dalmatian. The cottage was VERY clean and well equipped with totally enclosed outdoor space for dogs. Barlow loved running around on the beach (which was literally 2 minutes from the door as the description said.) The beach was nice and quiet and if you want more life, Clacton-on-Sea is only a 10 minute drive away.
Would definitely come back.

Lovely& comfortable home from home
Location was perfect very close to the sea for long walks along the beach.shops close by for all the essentials. Well equipped kitchen nothing forgotten
Bed linen beautifully crisp & clean a joy to sleep in
Safe secure garden ideal for our dog.

seaside cottage - snug but superb
We stayed here for Christmas and as before, we had a great time.
Cottage was welcoming with Christmas decorations put up for us
Ideally placed minutes from the sandy beach - great for dogs or children
Hopefully we'll be back :-)

An excellent base from which to both relax and explore the area
Had a wonderful relaxing holiday in an area we had never visited before. So close to the sea, dog friendly and welcoming,
Tip 1. Visit Clacton Town Hall and pick up the free map of Clacton, Jaywick, Jaywick Sands etc.
Tip 2. The locals are very helpful and will talk to you and advise on where to go for meals, or places to visit etc.

About the neighborhood
On the far west of Clacton on Sea and five minutes drive from the resort centre, Jaywick Sands is a quiet mostly residential location providing a base for those seeking a relaxing holiday or to use as a base from which to visit family or explore Essex and East Anglia. For those not bringing a car there is a regular bus service in to Clacton town centre and resort centre. The bus stop is a 2 minute walk from Seaside Cottage. Martello caravan park is a couple of minutes walk away and offers day-passes to its facilities including a swimming pool and club-house. The convenience store is open in the main season and is open to all, business hours are 8am-6pm. A five minute drive brings you in to Clacton and five minutes more on to Holland on Sea which have a number of good place to eat between them including Maffias Restaurant (Traditional restaurant incl Sunday carvery), Martello Inn (Toby Inn chain) The Oakwood Inn, (Excellent pub food) • A selection of Italian restaurants– Francs, Prezzo and Pizza Express (Italian) • Places to eat with beer-gardens in Clacton (dogs allowed) include Robin Hood, The Kingscliffe hotel, The Bowling Green and Martello Inn (Located on the seafront, about a 20 minutes walk from Jaywick Sands.)
In Saxon time Jaywick was called ;Clacton-inga-wick which become Clacton-jeywick and then shortened to Jaywick. The Sands addition was made to highlight the outstanding award-winning stretch of sandy beach it boasts. It is situation approximately 2 miles west of Clacton on Sea. Jaywick Sands was the site of a dairy farm, eventually sold by the landed gentry. There are a number of stories around the history of the area. One story is that small plots of land were purchased by Londoners, many of whom were workers at the Dagenham car plant, which is the reason why many of the streets in the most westerly section are all named after cars ie Rover, Hillman and Buick. The area is most popular with walking enthusiasts, being a bracing 20 minute walk to Clacton Pier along the seafront and dog-owners who can walk their dogs on the beach nearest the cottages all year.

Jaywick Sands in Clacton on Sea is an easy journey by road from most parts of the UK. It is serviced by major road routes. Some examples of approximate off-peak journey times are: East London - 1.5 hoursMaidstone, Kent - under 2 hours (depending on the Dartford Crossing!)Cambridge - under 2 hours
Rail -
It is also on a direct line from London Liverpool Street Station. Trains leave hourly from London Liverpool street station direct ot Clacton; both are terminal stations. The journey take approximately 1.5 hours. Buses and taxis are available at the station. A taxi will cost approximately £10 from Clacton railway station to Beach Cottage.
Air and road -
The nearest airport is London Stansted, journey time being under 1.5 hours. Other possible airports include London City, London Gatwick and London Heathrow.Air and railThe most convenient airports by rail are London City and London Stansted. Sea and road -
The nearest port is Harwich International. Harwich is a 30-40 minute drive from Clacton. Trains are available from Harwich to Clacton via Colchester. Dover port is a 2.5 hour drive from Clacton.
