Cottage
'Weavers Cottage' is a very comfortable well furnished cottage, a well appointed property situated in a perfect spot, off the common and yet very central to all amenities. It has been furnished with great attention to detail, as we like to live in comfort! Outside space at the front (with table and chairs) so your party can sit and watch the world go by whilst enjoying a drink (or fish and chips), cup of tea etc.. The cottages have a real 'holiday feel' about them because of the location, and yet are very homely. There is parking (subject to availability) but we and our guests never generally have a problem parking in the lane, and there is always additional (free) parking on the common nearby which is 2 mins walk away and directly accessed on foot via Spinners Lane. It is always easy to unload/load your luggage right outside the property as Spinners Lane is a no through road which is tucked away and unknown to the majority of people! It's really an idyllic spot/great for dogs and anybody who loves a walk on your doorstep! It's handy to walk from here over to Walberswick (over the bridge or take the one man/woman driven ferry) or to the harbour. The living room is very comfortable, with adequate seating for 7 (we've managed 12!) flat screen TV, Blu ray DVD player and a very comprehensive selection of books and DVDs to suit all tastes. If you wish to accommodate extra bodies (discuss beforehand, we would recommend 4 persons max for comfort but we can provide a comfy double roll up mattress for an occasional extra 'body'.) The kitchen is well stocked, we have a larder fridge but we also have an ice making machine (much quicker than making ice in the freezer)! There is a small enclosed area at the back of the property and visitors are allowed access over the rear of no 6. All our guests remark upon the location, it really is perfect because you have the best of both worlds/peace and quiet when you want it and yet the convenience of being just a couple of minutes away from the Fish & Chip Shop, less than 5 minutes walk to the High Street-all Shop/pubs/restaurants/the beach is 7 mins walk away. Read the reviews for both Loom and Weavers (next door to each other) to gain an insight.....we have people who return year after year. They love it almost as much as we do! It is also possible to rent both cottages at once for a family gathering which allows a bit more privacy than just one big house! Please note: Travel Cot and stair gate available (please ask) which we can provide free of charge. More

Interaction with guests: We have a Key Box, so guests have total privacy and independence. However, we are just up the road, so we are always on hand if we are needed/in the event of an emergency/ and we are always happy to help/will answer any query at whatever time! We are very approachable, so we have struck up some friendly relationships over the years but ultimately, we are not the interfering kind so we leave our guests in peace!

Weavers Cottage is generous in it's provisions, we couldn't think of anything missing. The cottage is perfectly located and in a very quiet lane. The rooms are bright and comfortable; the kitchen has everything as does the lounge. The bathroom is perfect with a really great shower. We used the table and chairs at the front for mid afternoon relaxing on several occasions. We managed to park in the lane in full view from the cottage. A great base for exploring this lovely town and surrounding area. The owners Kerry & Steve are doing a great job; very happy to leave this top rating

We stayed at Weavers Cottage between Christmas and new year. The house was beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean and the facillities made it feel like a real home from home. You couldn't ask for anymore. To top it off Kerry & Steve left us the most exceptional Xmas hamper that had something for all of us including our dog. The house is in a perfect spot just tucked away off Southwold high street in a quiet cul-de-sac but still only a minute from the quaint town, beautiful coast line and large grassy common. Southwold has a great selection of places to eat and drink. The old fashion pier has such character. We loved the walk between Southwold and Walberswick via the bridge. The Anchor pub and The Tea Shed in Walberswick are also worth a visit. I can't recommend Weavers Cottage enough. Thank you Kerry and Steve for great communication and knowledge of the area it really helped. We will be back.

Well-this is an absolutely fantastic review-we are so very pleased you enjoyed your stay. We know that when guests choose to go away during the festive period that it is very important to make everybody feel especially at home because it's such a special time of year! We wouldn't want anybody to think 'oh I wish we'd stayed at home'. We love preparing the hampers- and to hear you say yours was exceptional really makes everything worthwhile. We wanted you to feel welcome-so we're just pleased everybody was! We couldn't leave out the pooch-who is a very important family member after all! I guess I'm just a child at heart-love doing all the decorations too-it's always a treat for me-and I'm always on the lookout (and being told off by Steve) for being continually wanting to add to my (I say it's small) collection! It's great you made the most of Southwold during your stay too-sounds like you had some hearty walks and investigated Walberswick-which is always a lovely place to visit. My grandmother lived there so it holds many fond memories for me. So-I'd like to thank you all for choosing us-for being such perfect customers-and again-for taking the time to write such a comprehensive and wonderful review after your stay. We have just returned from a short break at Weavers Cottage. Kerry provided lots of useful info int the run up; about the cottage and local eateries which was a lovely touch. We were already familiar with the area so knew the location would be great so it was lovely to arrive and find that the cottage lived up to the excellent reviews. A very clean, well presented, well equipped home from home! Thank you for having us, we hope to come back soon.

First time in Southwold, so very lucky to get Weavers Cottage for a week. The cottage is lovely and clean, with everything we needed. The location is ideal, right on the edge of the common, and only a 5 minute stroll into town. Kerry was very helpful in providing suggestions for activities and dining, and there were no problems in the arrival and departure logistics. Little touches, like high quality towels and bed linens, made it feel even more special. All in all, thoroughly recommended!

The town is famous for the old world charm and style; the sandy (not overcrowded) beach,busy harbour, cliff top cannons, Lighthouse ,award winning Pier, Parish Church (considered to be one of the finest this kind and is the home of Adnams Brewery. Getting around
The bus stop is under 1 minute walk from the cottage. You can visit Norwich, Beccles, Bungay, Halesworth, Lowestoft, Pakefield and 'Out of Africa' amongst many other places. There is also a shuttle bus which will take you (very cheaply) around the town, including the harbour. If you're sticking to Southwold/Walberswick then you won't need a car!
