Poppy House is a large family home sleeping 11 in 5 bedrooms. Built in the 1890’s the house is set on a prominent corner plot and is walking distance from the award winning beach and town centre and just ½ mile from Old Hunstanton. There is easy access to Thornham, Brancaster, Sandringham and Burnham Market. Hunstanton (Sunny Hunny!) is a popular and charming Victorian seaside town with miles of beautiful beach, striking red and white striped cliffs and stunning sunsets. It is situated at the western end of the renowned North Norfolk Coast with its countless beaches, walks, sailing facilities and golf courses. Basing yourself in Hunstanton ensures all passions and interests are satisfied with things to do for all ages. The property is set over 3 floors and offers comfortable living accommodation for 11 people plus children, suiting families and groups for holidays, short breaks and weekends away. On the ground floor there is an entrance lobby with space for boots and coats, spacious reception hall with sofa and DVD player, lounge with three sofas and an open fire, very well equipped kitchen with dishwasher, Nespresso machine and large fridge freezer. With a large and comfortable dining room seating 12, groups of friends or families will find the house a great place for entertaining. There is a separate utility room outside which houses a washing machine, tumble dryer and additional fridge-freezer. There is a decked courtyard with corner sofa, table and chairs at the back of the property and a small, enclosed garden with bench seating to the front. A BBQ is provided. Upstairs you will find five bedrooms, three of which have en-suite shower rooms. All beds have luxury mattresses and excellent quality bedding. All rooms are equipped with a Smart TV, hairdryer and radio alarm clock. Three of the bedrooms have ipod docks. The family bathroom on the top floor has a bath and separate, powerful Mira shower. Bedroom 1: Double with en-suite shower room (first floor) Bedroom 2: Double with en-suite shower room (first floor) Bedroom 3: Family room - double and single bed, with en-suite shower room (first floor) Bedroom 4: Double room with cot (second floor) Bedroom 5: Twin room (second floor) The house is full of things to make this a real home from home, Smart TVs, ipod docks, a selection of books, Wii, DVD player and over 100 DVDs for young and old alike. There are board games, puzzles and toys and books for our younger visitors and a range of outdoor/beach toys for guest use too. There are even wellies, in varying sizes, for those who forget to pack theirs! Free WiFi is provided throughout the house. The house is well equipped for families with two high chairs, Kiddyguard retractable stair gates, microwave sterilizer, children's crockery and cutlery, 2 baby monitors, baby bath, toddler step, change mat, potty, toddler toilet seat and a bed guard. There are two travel cots and a full size cot (please bring your own cot bedding). You are spoilt for choice with the local beaches, many award winning and stunning. The town has a variety of shops, promenade, beach, restaurants, pubs and theatre. There is plenty to do including tennis courts, croquet lawns, amusements, bowling greens, windsurfing and an 18-hole golf course. There is a Sea Life Centre and The Oasis Sports Centre with indoor swimming pool, two squash courts, winter indoor bowling and the Funcastle soft-play. There is fantastic local walking passing through the Norfolk Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with the Peddars Way and Norfolk Coast Path running from Hunstanton continuing along the coast to Cromer. The area is also popular with cyclists with Norfolk having a variety of cycle routes including the Peddar’s Way and the 59 mile Norfolk Coast cycleway from King’s Lynn to Cromer. Hunstanton offers a great base for local fishing and the ideal local beach conditions brings in the water sports enthusiasts with water skiing, canoeing, kite surfing, parasailing and wind surfing being very popular. Bird watching is very popular with Norfolk being a top bird watching area, the North Norfolk coast between Hunstanton and Blakeney is particularly celebrated. There is the RSPB at Titchwell, Holme Nature Reserve, Snettisham RSPB Reserve and Scolt Head Island. You can see wildlife in its natural habitat at Blakeney Point (seal trips available), Cley Reserve and The National Nature Reserve at Holkham. From April to September you can catch a ferry from Brancaster Staith to Scolt Head Island NNR, a great example of an offshore barrier island. Foodies will not be disappointed. There is a variety of fabulous places to eat for all budgets and tastes. You have access to everything from the ever popular coastal delight a fish and chip takeaway through to the Michelin starred Neptune Restaurant which is ½ a mile down the road, and everything in between! A firm favourite is The Rose and Crown, down the road in Snettisham, which was awarded Norfolk Dining Pub of the year 2020 and 2021. Just up the road in Heacham (3 miles) is a lavender farm with lavender fields, farm shop, tearoom, animal farm, outdoor play area, gift shops, plant centre, Farmer Fred’s play barn, restaurant and gardens. See the lavender in bloom from the middle of June until the end of August. In Thornham (4 miles) you will find a wonderful deli and café, the renowned Orange Tree Restaurant and a small selection of independent shops, a farm shop, fishmonger, antiqyes barn, clothes shops, ice cream parlour, excellent fish and chips restaurant and pizza in a yurt restaurant at Drove Orchard. Brancaster (8 miles) is a pretty coastal village with superb sailing, including a sail school and a stunning beach. 16 miles to the East is one of Norfolk’s best loved coastal towns, Wells-next-the-sea. This small historic fishing town has much to offer all ages. A fine beach and pine woods, miniature railway and busy quay, interesting shops and amusements. Poppy House is truly family friendly and represents excellent value for money for your getaway with all the home from home comforts you get from choosing a self catering holiday. Fantastic house for all the family
We had an amazing break with 6 adults and 3 toddlers. Everything was provided and I mean everything - toys, books, toddler toilet seats, cutlery and plates. Plenty of crockery and glasses for the adults too. We felt completely at home and the location was great 🙂

Excellent for families
Perfect house for families and children, we were able to celebrate a 70th birthday in just the right combination of style and homeliness The kitchen was very well equipped and the bedrooms were lovely, the location perfect, a nice walk to the beach, amusements, shops etc. A brilliant choice for three generations to meet and enjoy a family weekend.

Fabulous place
House was absolutely fantastic! Spotlessly clean and immaculate throughout, very well equipped. Don't think I've stayed anywhere that provides so much in the kitchen, lovely touch of a bottle of bubbles on arrival. Close to amenities and house had plenty of space for a family of 8 with 2 dogs to spread out.

Dad's 80th Birthday
Finally after three dates changes and a year and three months from our original date we finally got to have our family weekend to celebate. We consisted of four generations, with eight adults and two children and would thoroughly recommend Poppy House. It was big, yet homely and accommodated us all very well. It was totally equipt with everything you would want, for your stay and the owner was especially helpful organising our date changes etc. Thank you very much and hope to visit again.

Family New Year
10 adults, a toddler and a dog stayed at Poppy House for 2019/2020 New Year. Spacious house with everything you need and more! Excellent location for the beach and town. We all agreed it was one of the best New Years we’ve had. Plenty of room to eat together and big enough if you wanted time to yourself. Excellent showers and very comfortable beds. Great communication with the owner. We would definitely recommend this house to anyone.

Excellent facilities and warm welcoming home
Poppy house is such a lovely warm welcoming house, with 2 toddlers and a 5 & 8 year old it had so many facilities for children (even the toddler toilet seats!). We had 6 adults and 4 children staying and there was more than enough room and a very short walk to the beach. The kitchen was perfect size and plenty of seating, we couldn’t believe all the utensils available as usually rentals are a bit sparse but there was everything we needed and more. A lovely stay in a lovely house!

Lovely stay
Great family weekend away in this lovely house. Plenty of room for us all and the dog! Beds were really comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked with pans, plates etc. The prosecco, bread, crisps and milk was a lovely surprise- thank you! Unfortunately the boiler had stopped working so there was no heating or hot water but Sara dealt with it immediately and it was up and running within an hour and the house was soon warm. Location is great - walking distance to everything and some lovely pubs and restaurants. Would definitely recommend and stay again

Wonderful trip to the coast
I went to Poppy house with my family for a long weekend. Great weather so we spent all day on the beach then found some lovely pubs in the evening to eat. Fantastic house for the kids and lots to do in the area. Will be looking to go again.

Perfect location and great for families.
When arriving at Poppy house, we were not aware just how much we had on our doorstep, and what we had accessible, just by walking for 5 minutes in each direction. You just do not need to get in the car! Old Hunstanton, and Hunstanton town offer the perfect combination of quaint, and wild, on old Hunstanton beach (with a few great pubs!) and then the practicality of the town with all the facilities for kids on rainy days and for a great park trip with an good ice cream in Hunstanton town. What made this special was coming back to Poppy house, and just feeling at home. It was so well equipped. You can group together as a big party but still feel like you have your own space. There are nooks and crannies for a good afternoon snooze and everything you could need for a family is provided. The hosts really know their stuff, and are ready to deal with questions and are quick to respond. - It was a great, and memorable trip.
