Our telephones are on 24/7 so whether you have a question during the booking process or during your stay we are always available. We pride ourselves in offering good customer service.
There is a guest folder in the home plus flyers with suggestions of what to do in the area, discount vouchers for tours, information on where to eat etc. If you would like more information just give us a call or a text!
My family spent a week at Beachcomber Beach house. It is a great location, had amazing views and we spent a lot of time on the deck.
I really appreciated towels and bed linen supplied. The rooms were very spacious and great for entertaining. Wendy and Philip's communication was excellent. It was great to know we were able to call them any time, if needed.
Highly recommend it, a great getaway. We'll book again!

Lovely place to stay
Beachcomber is a lovely place to stay. The location is perfect with beautiful views over Horseshoe Bay. The house is beautifully maintained with everything you need. Would be quite comfortable for 2 couples with accommodation both upstairs and downstairs. Within walking distance to cafes, hotels as well as beautiful Horseshoe Bay on your doorstep. Highly recommend and stay again.

Walk in, sit down, relax
Beachcomber is a fantastic place to stay. Designed for relaxing. Quiet spaces downstairs. Everything you want and need is here.
Comfortably appointed. Upstairs living and balcony has spectacular views of horseshoe bay and beyond. We spent a lot of time on that lovely balcony..the house is literally metres away from the beach..not far from iconic cafes and bakery either!!
Highly recommend this property and so lucky to have found this slice of paradise.

Great situation and comfortable, clean and well equipped as usual.
We have stayed at five of the Encounter Rental properties and always been impressed with the quality and presentation,
Beachcomber is very close to the Encounter Bay beachfront with great views over the bay. It is 2 minutes walk to the Flying Fish cafe and 5 minutes from the Strand, the main shopping and hotel street of Port Elliot. There are walks around the rocky headlands at both ends of the bay.

A fantastic holiday
After spending 4 nights at Beachcomber, I thoroughly recommend this property for location and layout. Very spacious and comfortable.
Great views of Horseshoe Bay and a picturesque sunrise.
We just chilled out and relaxed.

Fantastic views
This is the second time we have stayed at Beachcomber and both times the house has been spotless. Everything we needed was there. Special mention of the beautiful fluffy bath towels, extra large size. Very luxurious!
The house has great views of Horseshoe Bay from the balcony. We enjoyed breakfast on the balcony as well as afternoon drinks, relaxing and enjoying the outlook.
We highly recommend Beachcomber for a few days away.

Excellent, as always.
Beachcomber is faultless, from its great location overlooking Horseshoe Bay, to its amenities and, finally, its immaculate presentation. We went as a family group. The layout with a lounge, bedrooms and bathroom downstairs, plus a lounge, kitchen, dining room, bedroom and bathroom upstairs works really well...who doesn’t want to escape their own family on occasion? We’ve stayed at Beachcomber before, and also Meridian on a couple of occasions. Our experience has always been the same - Wendy and Philip’s properties are maintained to a uniformly high standard. The dog, Connor, also gives Beachcomber a paws up. He had the best time of all of us!

Location, location, location
We stayed at Beachcomber for the third time for six days. We choose it because it is close to the centre of Port Elliot and a short walk to the iconic Horseshoe Bay and the famous Flying Fish restaurant.
The facilities are very good and the owners are flexible and friendly. There is a good sea view from the front balcony.

Beachcomber is in a top spot just across the road from Horseshoe Bay and as the guests found, walking distance to everything! Being a family company who own the properties we rent we do try to offer good service. We upgrade facilities often and since this stay have installed new balcony furniture including a sun lounge so guests can lie back and soak up the gorgeous bay views. We hope to accommodate you again!

Port Elliot Beachcomber is situated beachfront right on Horseshoe Bay, just cross the road for beach access! (on the corner of Basham parade and Scrymgour Road). Knights Beach, Green Bay and Ladies Bay are a short stroll away as are the Soldiers Memorial Gardens and the Flying Fish Cafe.
Port Elliot has good village shopping with a mini mart, bakery, butcher, two fruit and veg shops, two hotels, cafes and restaurants, clothing and homeware boutiques, hairdresser and fast food outlet.
Getting around
Port Elliot is a quaint historical town settled in about 1840. You can access everything in the town by a short stroll, your car or local taxi services.

How to get there
Port Elliot is 75 km from the capital city of South Australia, Adelaide.
This takes about 1.5 hours by car from the airport, a little less from the cbd. Direct access is via the Main South Road expressway via Willunga and McLaren Vale.
Other scenic routes are through the Adelaide Hills through the charming towns of Hahndorf, Mount Barker and Strathalbyn or via the scenic valley road through Stirling, Aldgate, Mylor, Echunga. Meadows, Ashbourne, Currency Creek and Middleton.
There is a bus service from the Adelaide Franklin Street Bus Depot that will take guests to Port Elliot.
Scenic train trips on the Steamranger are available on selected days from Mount Barker to Port Elliot.
If going on to visit Kangaroo Island, the Cape Jervis ferry service is about 1 hour by car.
