Relax and enjoy the beautiful Coorong National Park in contemporary, self contained accommodation. This affordable holiday house is situated on the Coorong Waterfront 15kms south of Meningie, just 2 hours drive from the centre of Adelaide. An ideal stopover if you are travelling between Adelaide or Kangaroo Island and the Limestone Coast, Great Ocean Road and Melbourne. Enjoy the lagoon and birdlife on the kayaks provided, pack a picnic and explore the national park or stay cosy by the fire.
Coorong Waterfront Retreat accommodates up to 6 people in 3 queen size beds/rooms and includes a full kitchen, laundry facilities, bathroom, TV/DVD, reverse cycle air conditioning, BBQ, kitchen garden and landscaped garden. Long stay discounts apply.

Quiet and relaxing, with all the trimmings.
Lovely spot right across the road from the water. Space was spotless with plenty of space and everything you need to enjoy your stay. The fireplace was a good addition on some chilly days and nights.

Accommodation Definitely Recommended
If you are looking for a wonderful holiday, this is the place to stay. You can just relax or do Tours..i.e. Sea Birds & Seals, explore the area by car at your leisure etc. etc. or just enjoy the quite atmosphere of this truly wonderful accommodation. Here you have 3 Queen Bedrooms, a separate toilet, bathroom with bath & shower , a separate wash basin area, a normal size laundry, a very comfortable lounge/dining/kitchen area with all the amenities needed. Outside is truly amazing with a big garage to house one car, kayaks to enjoy & even a couple of bikes to ride. Outside, there is a perfect BBQ area with Weber, dining table & chairs and if you enjoy gardens, there is a lovely area to wonder to visit the kitchen garden etc. This accommodation is of excellent quality. Truly superb! Definitely recommend!.

Wendy and Dean provided everything anyone could need for a most enjoyable holiday in a delightful part of the world. We would highly recommend the Coorong Waterfront Retreat for a couple or a family.

Relaxing native garden sanctuary, and pelicans galore!
After a family holiday here we cannot speak more highly of Coorong Waterfront Retreat and recommend it to anyone! The location is quiet and relaxing and a 15min drive to Meningie; but looks out across the Coorong and allows you to walk along the beach or watch the birds from the front yard, or using the spotting scope or binoculars provided. A quick note on the location - the water across from the house is extremely shallow and not ideal for swimming unless you fancy a long wade out to get to knee high, but you can wander and watch the birds.
The house is spotlessly clean and extremely well maintained, with an abundance of carefully curated walking/driving/observing/references/shopping materials to help you get the most from your stay. The curated guides deserve their own special mention - there are day trips, field guides, even games based on the birdlife!
The garden is beautiful and thoughtfully put together, and the kids loved exploring the paths and watching the bird life - there’s even a kitchen garden with herbs and some native bush foods (labelled) to try, and you can even take some seeds home to start your own garden!
Thank you for a wonderful stay! We’ll be back next time the Coorong beckons!

Perfect Coorong getaway.
Very nice and very clean house in a great location for exploring the Coorong with the bonus of bikes and kayaks for the guests to use although for our stay the weather wasn’t conducive to taking the kayaks out.
House had everything you’d need for a really enjoyable stay and we would thoroughly recommend this property.

Beautiful house, lovely location
Under 2 hours drive from Adelaide, but a wonderful relaxing retreat!
The house and gardens are absolutely lovely and so much thought has been put into ensuring the most comfortable stay for guests - from the herb/vegie garden, the welcome chocs & bottle of sparkling, to the well equipped kitchen, selection of DVDs/music/games/books, bathroom toiletries and more...
For the warmer weather there is a BBQ, outdoor seating, bikes and kayaks, and in winter the fire is ready to light and relax with amazing views!
We would definitely recommend a stay, at any time of the year :)

Coorong Waterfront Retreat is a Must, amazing stay
WOW, what an amazing place to stay, Wendy and Dean have done a fantastic job to make you feel welcome. The house is immaculate with everything you need and the garden is just beautiful. If you are looking for a real Retreat then Coorong Waterfront is a MUST. Will have to go back when it's a bit warmer so we can Kayak across and see the Ocean because to hear it from the house is so intriguing and magical. Thank you both, you should be very proud of your Retreat and hospitality

Lovely location

Perfect
This is our third visit and will not be our last. The house is very clean and modern with many thoughtful touches that make life easy and that bit more enjoyable. From gladwrap and paper towel in the drawer to a fire ready to light Wendy and Dean have thought of everything. It is very peaceful and quiet and the views from the house are beautiful. We always find plenty to do, it is an amazing area and only a short 2 hour drive from Adelaide.

About the neighborhood
Coorong Waterfront Retreat is nestled amongst a small, peaceful waterfront settlement of holiday houses, shacks and a few permanent residences. It is one of the few built locations fronting the Coorong National Park. The waterfront is rugged, natural and undeveloped. The Coorong (saline lagoon) stretches for 50kms in either direction and the water crossing in front of the Retreat is 2kms. Much of the crossing is shallow although it does exceed head height in parts. A fisher can sometimes be spotted setting a net for Coorong mullet (prized through Australia) directly out from the Retreat. The shoreline varies throughout the year but there is always space for making your way along the waterfront to explore or to launch the kayaks.
Getting around
You can use the kayaks provided and paddle on the lagoon directly in front of the house or you can drive to any of the many points of interest in the Coorong National Park or around the Lower Lakes.
