Fantastic view but something to look at
We have been Morndyke Shepherds' Huts for a long week end with our lovely French bulldog Nala. It's a great place to recovery from a busy scheduled week. The hut is lovely, it has everything: fridge, hob, microwave, grill, and own barbecue outside. You can walk on fields or around the lake. You find books and board table to spend some time if the weather works against you. Wood fire stove and the view in the moaning, with a good cup of coffee, are amazing. A couple of things could be improved: I think I haven't read anything about the "honesty box", I had some cash to buy cloths, logs, and soap but not enough for the change. There is no socket in the kitchen that means you need to use the hob on the table. We used our bath cloths to try not demage it. An extention may help to use the hob in the kitchen.

Lovely views, that's about it
We stayed in Mopsy. The huts are nice and the views are lovely but we won't be going back again. There was dust on a pan and plastic tubs. Grease on the grill and hotplate. The barbecue looked liked like it hadn't been cleaned in ages. There is also a problem with flies, which I understand with it being a working farm, but the moment you open the door or Windows they're are lots and lots flying in. Why they don't have fly nets for the windows or fly screens for the door I don't know because that would help so much. We had to keep both shut which made it so hot and unbearable. We only ended up staying for 2 nights instead of 3 which we booked. We also had to buy some wine glasses from the local Tesco's because the ones in the cupboard weren't fit to drink out of. Finally Tricia has a poor attitude, I text her when I got home to tell her about our experience but she was very dismissive and rude and saying its libel. Wish we would of took pictures to show everyone. This is our experience yours might be different but we certainly will not be going back.

Fabulous
Very convenient to A1 and beautiful areas like Thirsk and The Yorkshire Moors. Once booked I received a lot of information from the owner regarding what was in the huts etc and what they sold in their little shop! We stayed in Mopsy but I gather they’re all pretty alike. Very cute little huts with all you need for a couple of nights stay. We had a couple of issues but they were sorted out and dealt with extremely well. We will definitely be back

What a wonderful relaxing stay
We've just returned from a 3 night stay in one of the Shepherds huts and what a brilliant stay we've had. The huts are very comfy and well equipped and the outside area is private if you want a bbq or to use the firepit which we did. Cannot wait to come back. What a lovely romantic place in easy access to everywhere. Thirsk is just up the road, £10 in a taxi and there's lots of bars and restaurants to choose from. We went to Uno Momento for food and it was delicious. We then went to the Red Bear for a drink and was met by a lovely girl working behind the bar who couldn't do enough for us. There is always the Three Tuns which is a wetherspoons and does a brilliant full English breakfast. We will definitely be back to stay at Morndyke.

Fabulous!
We stayed for 2 nights with our little dog in 'Cottontail' and it was absolutely perfect! The hut is very clean and well cared for had everything you needed and more! The welcome basket was a lovely extra touch and it was made all the better for being able to bring our dog. The outdoor BBQ areas have the perfect amount of privacy and we were lucky enough for good weather!

1st class hut in lovely surroundings.
Just returned from what was a fabulous weekend staying in "Flopsy" hut. The owners have thought about everything to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Lovely touches such as nice freshly made scones with butter and jam and a nice bottle of wine to welcome you. Weather was nice for us so we managed to have a BBQ on both nights. The heater and log burning stove ensured we were nice and cosy in the evening. This was our second visit and definitely won't be our last.

Perfect!
We had the most perfect, relaxing stay in the Mopsy Shepherd's hut last week. I booked it as a treat for my mum and she loved it too, she'd already booked to go back again before we left! The owners have thought of everything even down to leaving treats for the dog. We particularly loved the scones that had been left for our arrival, they were so delicious! We literally couldn't fault a thing, we had the most relaxing time and can't wait to go back again!

Amazing and luxurious, loved it.
The shepherds huts are beautiful, luxurious and as far from camping as you can get. We had a brilliant time. Tricia and Alan are very friendly and helpful. The hut is beautifully furnished and equipped with everything you'd need. I loved the hamper that was there upon arrival. There is a washroom stocked with essentials incase you forget anything or need to top up. The patio area outside is very private and perfect to sit with the bbq or fire pit on, we enjoyed relaxing and watching the birds on the large bird feeder. My dog loved it too as he had a secured field to run around in. We will definitely be returning. Thank you for making us very welcome.

Perfect
We stayed in the Mopsy hut for 3 nights In September. We had a brilliant time, the huts were perfect and finished to a very high standard and spotlessly clean. They are equipped with everything you will need for your stay. On our arrival we were greeted with a lovely hamper filled with lots of tasty treats. The private patio area and fire pit is perfect for taking in the fantastic surroundings and listening to the birds. The on site wash house is such a great idea and is stocked with any essentials you may have forgot. This place is perfect and we will definitely be returning in the future.

About the neighborhood
Head off into the open countryside on your bike and enjoy the wind in your face as you cycle on the many National Cycling Routes that are within easy reach from Morndyke.Whether you enjoy a leisurely tootle or are in training for the next Tour de Yorkshire, there are rides for every ability, not least the crippling Sutton Bank that pales even the toughest rider. The view you are rewarded with once you reach the top of Sutton Bank is remarkable, there is even a sign stating ‘Finest view in England’ to prove its worth! Enjoy a leisurely walk on the permanent pasture strips that are set around the edges of our fields whilst keeping eyes peeled for the array of birds, butterflies and wildlife that live here.
Getting around
Less than half a mile walk across the fields, down the set-aside strips, will take you to the friendly hub of Busby Stoop garage that stocks all your essentials in food, toiletries and drink – including a number of alcoholic beverages for those who wish to relax with a bottle of wine and watch the sun set. Opposite is the award winning Jaipur Spice Indian restaurant that prepares both Indian and English food - though best to book early as their success aids their popularity. In Thirsk itself (3 miles away) there are many different pubs, cafes and restaurants that cater for a wide range of tastes. Our favourites are ‘The White Horse Café’ that sells the best fish and chips this side of Whitby, and ‘White Rose Books and Café’
