Apple Tree Cottage is in a lovely position close to the centre of Youlgrave and conveniently located for the village amenities. The village has three pubs, a post office/newsagents and a very well stocked village shop as well as Peak Feast Bakery. Everything you need for your stay can be bought in the village.
The cottage has been completely renovated to an exceptionally high standard with all accommodation arranged at ground level. As our guests often mention, the cottage is like a 'Tardis'...cosy and warm but much larger than you might expect.
The cottage has a south-facing terrace garden with furniture for outdoor eating and wonderful views of the surrounding countryside. With external lighting it offers a perfect spot to enjoy a drink and relax after a day out in the countryside.

Relaxing
Comfortable bed and sitting room furniture, and nice to see everything clean with a fantastic view. The basics milk tea and coffee appreciated. Fabulous village with great beer and food in both the farmyard Inn and bull Inn didn't have time to try the other eateries . Great communication with owners will definitely return. The home grown raspberry Maggie's husband dropped off were lovely

Lovely cottage home from home
We had a lovely few days away. The cottage had everything we needed and had been furnished really well with everything matching. Tea and coffee and milk provided which was a lovely thought. Also a voucher to spend in the local bakery !
It was a comfy bed, lovely bathroom with electric shower and the cooking facilities were good too
Shame it wasn't warm enough to sit out, but it would be really pleasant and a little suntrap! We were lucky enough to just catch the last day of the Well Dressing. Would recommend this to friends.

Perfect getaway in the Peaks
Lovely little cottage which is kitted out well and in the heart of the village. Very quiet and peaceful spot, ideal for walks from the village and easy to drive off to walk further afield. Good pubs locally and amazing pies at Peak Feast bakery. We feel very rested after a few days staying in Appletree Cottage and hope to return soon.

Great location
Just spent a lovely weekend staying at Apple Tree Cottage. It is in the heart of the village a short walk to three pubs, two shops and a post office. The cottage is very well equipped and had everything we needed. We slept well on a very comfy bed. The under floor heating a real treat on a cold morning. Beautiful countryside can be explored straight from the door. Many thanks - I'm sure we will return

Lovely cottage
Stayed some years ago and really love this little cottage. Unfortunately this time we felt it a little neglected but after we'd aired the property and removed the wildlife that had built to an uncomfortable level, the old charms came back. A lovely property well worth a visit xx

Perfect
Just finished a 3 night break in the cottage, which we booked last minute. Booking and information provided was excellent. The cottage itself was easy to find and perfect for our needs. Basics like coffee, tea, & milk were provided allowing for that cup of tea when we arrived. The property is spotless and well laid out for its size. Underfloor heating was very welcome with the February weather. Information/maps about local walks were provided and we has 2 lovely walks. The first down Bradford Dale and the second following the River Lathkill to Over Haddon. Perfect cottage for 2 adults and very good value for money

A perfect hideaway
We booked Apple Tree Cottage at quite short notice and are so glad it was available.
We loved Youlgreave on arrival and were so impressed with the views from the terrace at the front of the cottage.
Inside didn't disappoint either. Spotlessly clean and well decorated with comfortable furnishings and a kitchen filled with everything you could need. We slept very well! Maggie & Ian have put in a lot of care and attention.
Youlgreave is a walkers hub where the Limestone Way passes through and gives access to some beautiful river walks and undulating fields. Great for bird spotters too. The village caters well for anyone into their pubs and cakes and the two shops stock everything you need as well as local produce.
Overall we had a wonderful, relaxing weekend at Apple Tree Cottage and look forward to returning.

Peaceful and tranquil
After a very rough year as key workers and loosing my dad, this was our first trip in 2 years and it was very much needed. The peaceful air about the cottage and village, a smile on every face we came across. The cottage was everything we needed to get away from the real world, truly special place and did the soul good. Thank you so much.

Lovely cottage in idyllic village
This is a lovely cottage just right for 2 people, vice views from the windows and all the amenities you could need inside and information on local walks and things to do. Off road parking is a real bonus ensuring you are able to park close by. The village is very nice and with 3 pubs we were spoilt for choice, with food available and friendly conversation available. Plenty of local walks to enjoy the scenery and earn that well deserved pint and evening meal.

Youlgrave sits in the White Peak of the Peak District National Park close to the market town of Bakewell. Beautiful Bradford Dale and Lathkil Dale are a short walk away with Stanton Moor a short distance away. There are public footpaths in every direction from the village passing through fields of sheep enclosed by limestone walls.
The area is steeped in history stretching from the Neolithic at Arbor Low, through Norman Britain at Peveril Castle, Tudor Britain at Haddon Hall, the English Baroque of stunning Chatsworh House and the cradle of the Industrial Revolution in the Derwent Valley at Cromford.
Getting around
We have bus services that link the village to Bakewell, Chesterfield and Matlock.
