Lovely cottage in the Peak District
We stayed in Overdale Cottage for 4 nights at the end of October. The cottage is lovely, clean and well kept. The lounge with log burner was cosy and the kitchen had everything we needed. There is a roof terrace up some steps from outside the back door with a lovely view. Double bedded bedroom and bathroom upstairs. A short walk down the hill takes you to a river with plenty of walks from this. The village has everything you need, 3 pubs, a shop, post office/general store, cafe and a gorgeous bakery. All within a few mins walk. 10 min drive away is Bakewell and a little further Buxton and Matlock. Overdale Cottage is perfectly situated to explore the area. Plenty of walks to choose from, just a short drive away. Chee dale stepping stones, the Monsal trail & Padley Gorge were some of our favourites and theres plenty more we didn't have time for so we'll be back!

Overdale cottage, Youlgrave
Had a great weekend at Overdale cottage in Youlgrave, the cottage is positioned in a very peaceful place overlooking the dale opposite. The balcony high up was a lovely spot to relax and have a brew taking in the views, the cottage was comfortable and had everything you would need. We felt the cottage was good value for money and would certainly recommend for others thinking about somewhere to stay in this great little village

An idyllic retreat
A relaxing three day break in the homely Overdale cottage in the most idyllic location. Beautiful views down to the River Bradford which we enjoyed from the lovely roof terrace - a real added bonus and despite the un-summery weather, we were able to enjoy the odd cuppa outside! The cottage is cosy, comfortable and spotlessly clean with everything we needed for our stay. So many walks from the doorstep so you can easily leave the car parked for a few days and go off exploring. But also only a short drive to some of the gems of the Peaks such as Mam Tor, Castleton and Ladybower and Derwent Water. And of course a visit to Bakewell, just a short drive away, to sample the pastry delights is a must! Youlgreave is a lovely friendly village with three great pubs, a delicious deli, Post Office and a bakery. What more could you need? A wonderful stay and we will be back!

Lovely week at Overdale
We had a great stay at Overdale despite inclement June weather. The cottage is fantastically placed to take advantage of local walks from the door. We had a bottle of wine, milk and some biscuits as a welcome which was a nice touch. The village is beautiful and locals all seem very friendly with three great pubs. We particularly liked the Bulls Head and the George where the food was excellent with huge portions in the George! Sandwiches made freshly in the village shop were great to take on the walks and the Fountain View bakery does excellent coffee and cooked breakfast’s. All in all we had a wonderful week.

The perfect cosy Christmas
A wonderfully cosy cottage in a great place to explore the peak district. A lovely little walk by the river behind the cottage and good location for me to cycle the monsal trail and head up mam tor for sunrise on Christmas morning before relaxing in front of the fire. The perfect restorative Christmas break and excellent communication from the owners in the run up to my break. Thank you ⭐

Lovely cosy cottage
Lovely traditional cottage with excellent facilities. Well equipped kitchen, full sized bathroom, very comfortable bed and the wood burner made it really cosy. This is a great place to base yourself for exploring the surrounding areas walks, towns and attractions like Chatsworth House. Youlgreave itself is perfect for pubs, local shops and cafes all within walking distance of the cottage. Phil and Sue who host the cottage could not have been more helpful supplying local info on walks etc and promptly answering any questions we had before our visit. All in all a perfect stay thank you
