A charming 16th century cottage with lots of character and exposed beams. It has 4 bedrooms, 3 doubles and 1 twin. One of the doubles being en-suite. The cottage has been recently refurbished to a high standard. It has a log fire which is lovely & cosy in the winter and outside dining in a pretty garden for relaxing in the summer. It's in an idyllic village called Great Urswick which has a pub and a lovely restaurant which has won a few awards. There's a park for the kids and a church which is over 1000 years old. It has a tarn which is really pretty too and there's loads of lovely walks around, Birkrigg common only a mile up the road has stunning 360 views of the Furness Peninsula. 2 miles from the South Lakes Wild Animal park, 3 miles away from the historic market town of Ulverston, 15...A charming 16th century cottage with lots of character and exposed beams. We had a very relaxing time at Oronsay this weekend. Nothing was too much trouble and excellent communication prior to arrival. The Oronsay has great facilities and the beds were super comfy! We look forward to going back and would definitely recommend.

About the neighborhood
Great Urswick, with its two characterful pubs and restaurant, is a hidden gem, a lovely village just three miles to the south of Ulverston. Great Urswick lies on a tarn, the tarn is a wonderful wildlife habitat with a whole host of water birds occupying its sheltered corner. Birkrigg Stone Circle is one of several prehistoric settlement sites in the surrounding countryside. Locally, the start of the Haematite and Cumbrian Way footpaths can be found. Nearby Ulverston is an ancient market town, which still holds a street market every Thursday and Saturday. Facilities include a wide range of shops, pubs and restaurants, a cinema and a leisure centre. All of the attractions of the Lake District National Park are easily reached. The Furness Coast boasts sandy beaches and good birdwatching. Wind...
