Twenty Queen Street is a 5 star (Visit Britain) family-friendly townhouse perfect for exploring the Southern Lakes and Morecambe Bay.
It's a large house with two receptions - a Library Lounge with huge comfy sofa, widescreen TV and games, and a grown-up drawing room with armchairs, cosy fire and honesty bar. Finnish sauna for 5.
We provide pampering touches such as fresh flowers, robes, welcome pack and concierge service.
We've also had lots of lovely press coverage including The Guardian, The Independent and Country Homes and Interiors and we were voted 4th best place to stay in Cumbria by The Times.

We wanted to stay in the heart of Ulverston for the Retro Rendezvous weekend celebrations (and my husband's first birthday with his younger brother) and were lucky enough to find this property. The owner was extremely accommodating and allowed us to stay for 2 days instead of the minimum 3 - thanks Lesley! We were welcomed with fresh flowers, a bottle of prosecco, biscuits, fresh fruit, a welcome card and complimentary robes - what lovely...

Great, quirky townhouse in Ulverston town centre. On the doorstep of great pubs with good food, takeaways and the wonderful Lake District. Loved the decor and finishing touches (fresh Christmas tree, flowers and fruit) but have to agree with previous comments, the beds are not the most comfortable. Didn't use the sauna but have to think the space would have been better used as another bathroom. That said I would definately consider using 20 Queen...

I have only wonderful things to say about this property. The whole place is quite well looked after, and we instantly felt comfortable and at home upon entering. The downstairs library and TV room has an especially comfy couch, and the movie selection could keep you occupied for several days. About the neighborhood
Ulverston is a bustling old market town well-known for it's cobbled streets, cosy country pubs, the Laurel and Hardy Museum (Stan's birthplace) and its Thursday and Saturday markets. It is a festival town, with lots of interesting events - egg rolling at Easter, a dragon chase on St.George's Day, a Carnival (July), an evening lantern procession in the Autumn(mid-September), Flag Fortnight and a grand Dickensian Christmas wk-end (last wk-end of Nov).It is also the start or finish of the famous Cumbrian Way.Spectacular Morecambe Bay is minutes away with miles of isolated coast and beach trekking. Piel Island (which has it's very own King) is nearby after a short ferry and from here you can charter boats for seal watching.

Airport: Manchseter: 90.1 mi
Railway: Ulverston: 0.2 mi
Directions : leave the M6 at junction 36 and follow A590 direction Barrow-in furness until you reach Ulverston (25 miles app). Upon entering the town, you will arrive at a roundabout beside Booths supermaket, go straight on until the next roundabout and turn right into Brewery St. This is a one-way system that you follow until you reach a mini-roundabout, turn left into King St and continue straight on past the Market Square and into Queen St.
The nearest airports are Blackpool and Manchester from where you can either travel by train to Ulverston or hire cars (Holiday Autos) and drive 1hr and 1 1/2hrs respectively.
