About the neighborhood
Staveley is a pretty village situated at the southern gateway to the Lake District National Park - easy for visitors travelling from the South. If you wanted a day without getting into the car, why not walk down to the village across the fields, stop for coffee at Wilfs cafe and stroll along the river. The children will love playing in the village adventure playground and you can't miss a Sunday night at The Hawkshead Beer Hall with open mic musical entertainment for all ages.
Getting around
Staveley train station is situated 10 minutes walk away from Ashes Cottage, down the lane. On the Cumbria Railway Network you can catch a train to Windermere or Kendal from here. For major connections travel to Oxenholme. Stagecoach buses run from Staveley village Abbey Square every half hour or so, stopping at Windermere, Bowness, Brockhole, Ambleside, Rydal, Grasmere, Thirlspot and Keswick.
