We chose the chalets mainly because of access to Scafell Pike. The accommodation was really good, every facility was provided for and the view of the garden complete with sheep was great. Even bird seed was provided for the feeder on the balcony. All said, a great relaxing break. And yes, we climbed Scafell Pike.

Perfect, Peaceful, Pet-Friendly
We are now on our fifth stay in five years and we absolutely love it here. The chalets are located in the most perfect setting with everything you need for a comfortable and relaxing stay including a wonderful garden for humans and doggies alike in what we consider the best the Lake District has to offer.

Perfect location, warm, spacious.
Ideal location to walk the beautiful Eskdale fells. Wonderful view over the gardens towards the river. Amazing welcome and excellent cake!
Even the very wet weather didn't dampen our enthusiasm - lots of space for drying out soggy clothes!
Would definitely recommend.

Perfection in very way
This is our 4th visit to the Chalets, although we have visited Eskdale for the past 30 years.
We keep returning to the Chalets as they are perfect. We arrived slightly early but the accommodation was ready, as we entered we noticed how warm the chalet was and upon going into the living room we were delighted to see a Christmas tree (something we don't bother with at home!!). As ever the chalet was spotlessly clean and has everything we needed.
We ate out during the days then took food for the evenings plus DVD's and Prosecco!! The chalets have so many walks from the doorstep that we don't tend to move the car once parked up. The Brook House pub is a short walk away and serves great food.
The garden is huge and lovely for a morning stroll.
We love this place and will continue to return year after year.

away from everything ......
When my bf said I'm looking forward to our next adventure, I didn't realise how literal this would be haha ....first off don't follow the sat nav unless you want to end up on the highest, steepest ...scariest road in the whole of England !!!! Finally arrived after several stops to give the car/clutch a rest, the chalets really are in the most remote place I have ever visited, definitely do a food shop before you go as a supermarket you will not see, the chalets are very nice with everything you need to cook a full Sunday dinner and a cake to follow, spotlessly clean, nicely decorated lovely gardens with a balcony overlooking to throw the Frisbee from for our little dog ....take afew games favourite dvds if you have children to keep them entertained in the evening, in the morning we decided to give the car more rest and took the little train to Ravenglass very pretty route to a small village, had a look at the sea something to eat in the local pub and a wander around the area not a great deal there but enjoyed the ride, we walked to the local pub about 10 mins walk away, take a torch for the walk as without it, it's very dark, staff were friendly, good selection of meals and nice wine selection, all in all we had a good get away from it all break, my only criticism would be the bed was not comfy woke up both days with backache and the duvet didn't fit the bed properly so woke up cold during the night grabbed the duvet from the other room was surprised to find this as everything else about the chalets was lovely.

We are sorry to hear that you were uncomfortable and cold during your stay. This is not a complaint that we have ever received before, the bed is a double and the duvet is a 13.5 tog double, fairly standard sizing. The heating is fully controllable by the guest and can be run 24h a day if necessary although I would not expect this to be necessary. It is very difficult to find a mattress that suits everyone and can only apologize that you were not happy with it. The mattress is a 1400 pocket sprung good quality mattress and we have had no other complaints. With regards to the journey to us, we do send out directions which are explicit about not following sat nav. The hardknott pass is much more suited to a day trip. We also send out information regarding shopping also, none of these things should be a surprise to our guests if they have read the info. I would suggest that one persons "middle of no where" is anothers "center of everything". We are perfectly located to access the western lake district and all the amazing countryside. I do hope that you will not be put off and that you will return again in the future.

Home from Home
Amazing holiday at The Chalets!!!!!! wonderful home from home self catering accommodation. Every detail has been thought about and provided here. Beautiful settings and peaceful. Loved the visiting sheep in the gardens and the river at the end is lovely to sit and watch (and shallow enough to paddle in). Dog friendly. Comfy beds and the most amazing cake was waiting for our arrival. Phil and Lisa and Pat (the Mom) give these chalets their full attention. Nothing is too much trouble for them. Onsite washing machine and dryer to use for a very small charge. Mountain bikes and more to use. We can't wait to come back next year and stay again. Thank you so much for sharing your homes with us and for looking after us so well.

Peace
Beautiful accommodation in an idyllic setting. We spent 4 nights in Willow. An Immaculate chalet with a stunning garden leading to the river. There are lots of walks on your door step. Living in an urban area, we really appreciated the peace and quiet.

Eskdale is a beautiful valley in the heart of the Lake District National park. The Chalets are set in a stunning riverside
location close to the village of Boot.
Boot village offers traditional Inns, one of the oldest working watermills, a local crafts shop and a village shop.
Eskdale is surrounded by the biggest, deepest and steepest in England. Sca Fell, England's highest Mountain, can be
conquered in a day from The Chalets. At the top of the valley you will find England's steepest road, The Hard Knott pass. Here you will also find the Roman Fort. The Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway, Locally known as La'al Ratty, winds it's way down through the valley to the sea, from Eskdale to Ravenglass, perhaps England's prettiest train journey.
Eskdale can provide you with a new mountain to climb each day and just as many gentle riverside strolls and valley walks. Discover the secret tarn, the quaint church or the Stunning waterfalls at Stanley Ghyll.
