Helpful owner of this little cottage. Clean and very well equipped. Neighbours helpful and friendly. We stayed here for a week while my son got married at Shap. He lives in Penrith so close enough to pop in. Only thing was stairs are very steep (you expect that in a cottage) but dangerous if you were unsteady when going to...

What a gem of a cottage in the lovely village of Greystoke, Cumbria. Clean, comfortable, everything you need to make your stay really enjoyable. About the neighborhood
Greystoke, a village on the outskirts of the Lake District National Park, retains its village green with its ancient market cross that dates back at least to the early 1600's<BR><BR>Village shop is a family run store selling newspapers, groceries, local fresh meat, fresh local bread, fresh fruit and veg, alcohol and also have a post office. Open seven days a week<BR><BR>Outdoor Swimming Pool is open from May to September, 1pm - 6pm at weekends and during the holidays, and 3pm - 6pm on weekdays.<BR>The pool is run on a not-for-profit basis by an enthusiastic committee of volunteers.<BR><BR>Greystoke Castle itself dates back almost a thousand years. and there has been a Church as Greystoke since 1255

You will signpost for Newbiggin (right turn). Follow this round through village to end and turn left onto B5288. This road will bring you to Greystoke Village. Follow road round to left. You are now in Icold Road. You will pass village shop in left. Small row of cottages on left. Rose Cottage is 3rd from end.
