Villa Playa Del Faro is located in a quiet area with American, Canadian and British neighbors who live there months at a time. We are only 45 minutes north of the large, colonial city of Merida (over 1 million people), which has an international airport (Code MID) featuring direct flights from Houston, Miami, Atlanta and Mexico City. The best connections are on Continental Airlines, offering 1 stop service from most US cities directly into Merida. You can also save some money and fly into the resort area of Cancun, which is about a three hour drive from the Villa; it is also served by a luxury bus that travels from Cancun to Merida.
Villa Playa Del Faro is architect designed, with Talavera tiles finished bathrooms, kitchen and stairway giving it a definite Mexican style. It is a brand new construction accommodating 4-6 people. Just a few steps out your door, your private gate opens onto a deserted white sandy beach that you can explore for miles. Swim, snorkel, fish in the warm aqua-blue waters of the Gulf. The peaceful, shallow water with no undertow or drop-off and no sea grass, is perfect for wading, swimming and the variety of shells is fascinating. At the end of the day, be amazed by the breathtaking sunsets, listen to the waves and enjoy a blanket of stars with no light pollution to get in the way. This part of the Gulf of Mexico has not been affected by the recent oil spill in the north; the turquoise waters and white sands of the Yucatan beaches are still pristine and unpolluted. The quiet, warm Gulf breezes are made for delicious tropical nights!
It has two bedrooms each with private bathroom with shower and balcony. The master bedroom has an oceanfront terrace with a spectacular view. The master bedroom has a queen bed; the second bedroom has two queen beds. Downstairs, a kitchen, open plan dining area and lounge look out to the outdoor patio area with its outdoor dining set, long chairs and beach chairs. A terracotta and talavera tiles charcoal barbecue with inbuilt sink and cooking area are ideal for your ocean view barbecues by the pool.
A long white sandy beach, that is almost deserted for most of the year, is just steps down from our terrace. You can walk for miles collecting sea shells and watching pelicans dive for fish. You will meet a handful of fishermen and one or two foreigners – otherwise, you will usually have the beach to yourself.
You could stay in this area for a long time and not run out of things to do. The local people are very friendly and helpful, and will gladly assist you even if you don't know Spanish.
We have an English speaking caretaker if you need assistance, she will also meet you and introduce you to the Villa.
Historic Merida is a city dating back to the 1600's with amazing original architecture in the Centro district. Experience music and dancing or on Sunday morning rent a bike and tour the city on several streets closed just for bicycling. You will love the fabulous restaurants and outdoor cafes in Merida, and the shopping is great!
Also you can visit modern Merida with it's ice skating rink in the center of a mall, interesting zoo, or it's VIP movie theaters with lounge chairs and cocktail service. Even Home Depot, Costco, Wall Mart, McDonald, Sears, and Starbucks, if you're homesick.
There is much to do nearby including visiting Mayan ruins (Dzibilchaltun, Chichen Itza, Uxmal, and several others), or swimming in Cenotes (underground rivers), fishing, lots of shopping, or just beaching it. The area is culturally interesting and will provide you with insight into true Mexican life

,,One of the best place I ever been,,
We stayed in Villa for a week in January 2017. Everything worked really well and if we needed help with anything, The Property Manager was really fast and accurate with his replies.
There was never any doubt that the kids could wander anywhere on their own.
The location of this property is ideal for anyone who appreciates their privacy and a bit of peace and quiet. There is only a very short walk to the closest grocery store.

Fantastic Home Rental in Telchac
My husband and I stayed Villa Negra for four nights and loved it. It was clean and comfortable. Everything was in working order and we especially loved the pool with an ocean view. Internet worked perfectly. Even though it was quite secluded, and had some abandoned houses on both sides, we felt safe the whole time. We kept the doors and windows opened (while we were there) the whole time for the constant ocean breeze. House has two safes, neither of which we knew a code for. Also provided were a coffee maker, hair dryer, beach towels, etc. We never ran out of hot water - but didn’t use a lot either. We also washed a load of clothes before moving on to phase 2 of our vacation - worked just fine. No clothes dryer - you hang dry your clothes. There is very little in this town, and very little if any English is spoken. Lots of sand roads and dogs. It was charming. We drove into Progreso 2 nights for dinner which was about a 20 min drive one way. We also had dinner at the Technotel which is very close, and while the food was good, the ambiance was odd, which made us a little uncomfortable. I’d skip that if I had to do it over again. If you want true R&R - this is the house rental for you.

Clean, beautiful and homey.
Beautiful, clean and nicely furnished. We enjoyed our stay at Villa Playa Del Faro. The tray of food we found in the fridge upon our arrival, (left by Ivonne the property manager) was a welcome surprise after a long day of driving across the peninsula. Everything went smoothly. We had a minor issue with the pool filter but after calling Gary (the local pool guy), he arrived within five minutes, and had everything in working order shortly thereafter.
The villa itself, which is a duplex, is right on the beach, neighboring other beach houses, most of which are either abandoned or fairly run down - with the exception of a few like this villa. Apparently this is due to hurricane Isidore which made landfall in Telchac Puerto. Apart from this, the town is a quiet, and friendly fishing village. Walking the beach, which is covered in sea shells and sand, you'll see the occasional local or expat.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wish we could have spent more time there.

Relaxing by the pool with a view!
We had a wonderful time at the villa.
The charming villa had everything needed for cooking, clean bathrooms, a terrace with a pool and an amazing view. We felt at home really quickly.
We loved walking on the beach and strolling threw the village to go pick up fresh fruits and warm bread. We discovered a lovely place, we met nice people and we will definitely be going back. Thank you to our very nice host for giving us the chance to enjoy your lovely villa.

Wonderful vacation
We spent a Christmas week on the villa and received everything we were dreaming to have during this vacation - a spacious and tastefully decorated villa, very clean and comfortable; a big and clean pool, and an ocean - beautiful and relaxing. It was a great pleasure to have a breakfast on the patio on the second floor, to listen the ocean and breathe fresh salty air, or to relax in hammock during the day or in the evening. The small town of Telchack has few awesome restaurants with fresh seafood and delicious local deserts, it is very quite, far from tourist crowds and local people are very friendly. We have also enjoyed flamingos and other birds watching in the lagoon just few minutes drive, local ruins, ceinotes and Merida with its cultural events. This vacation had just one disadvantage - it passed too quickly. I wish we'll have at least two weeks to spend there.

Fantastic!
My husband and I spend four great nights at Villa Playa Del Faro. It was an excellent holiday house in an great location. We were very pleased by the close proximity to the town square and it is just like it shows in the pictures. Beautiful, right on the beach. The pool was clean and refreshing on a hot day. The house is well maintained, organised and very comfortable. The view from the upstairs patio for breakfast was a favorite. Next time we will stay for longer. The people of Telchac Peurto were very welcoming. Yvonne the property manager is very helpful in getting you settled in. We had an amazing time. Thanks so much!

Perfect beach vacation villa
We spent a week here duringDecember 2012 - January 2013.
We had a great time at this villa. The rooms were truly beautiful, with breathtaking views. The house was decorated just as nicely and was very comfortable.
The kitchen is especially well appointed, with everything you can possibly think of.
Internet works very well, large screen TV with huge amount of movies to watch.
We enjoyed the open air, fresh breezes and beautiful sunsets each evening.
Store to buy food was down the block, walking distance, and beach just steps away. When water was rough we spent time by the pool.
You could never be bored in this place.
We were very comfortable and felt like at home.
Thank you Imad for the wonderful vacation.

Telchac Puerto is a quiet and unspoiled fishing village where a handful of North American snowbirds have left the pressures of home behind to adapt to the laid back and relaxed rhythm of the Gulf of Mexico. You will feel at home here in this tranquil getaway where foreigners have adapted to Mexico, rather than the other way around, seen elsewhere in the bigger resorts of the Yucatan. Telchac is a place where you will find basic conveniences and services, but where the traditional Yucatecan values of courtesy, honesty and hospitality are still very much in evidence. We promise you that you will not be bothered by a single person hawking souvenirs.
Yet the busier port town of Progreso, with its shops, supermarkets and American hospital, is just a 25 minute drive. The white colonial city of Merida, with its nightly outdoor folkloric dance presentations, broad range of restaurants and shopping, including Costco, Sam’s Club and Walmart, is 50 minutes from Telchac on well maintained roads.
