Appalachian Dream was built in 2010. It is a cozy, beautifully decorated log home surrounded by lush woods on a mountain top. You will have year round spectacular long range views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The cabin is only 6 miles from downtown Marion and 2 miles to I-40. It is nestled in a very secluded and peaceful area, making it perfect for relaxing and spending quality time with your loved ones, and enjoying nature.

The cabin is close to Blue Ridge Parkway, Mount Mitchell State Park, Linville Caverns, Western NC Nature Center, Lake James, Linville Falls Golf Club, Belle Nicho Winery, Biltmore Estate, Chimney Rock, Lake Lure, and much more.
If you want to stay in a comfortable place and be close to many attractions, the Appalachian Dream is available for you.

We do not rent to vacationing students or singles under 25 years of age, unless accompanied by an adult guardian or parent. The maximum occupancy is 8 guests. Additional fees will be charged if more than 8 guests stay over night. This is a no smoking cabin. A $100.00 extra cleaning fee will be withheld from the damage deposit if we find any indication there has been smoking inside cabin. No Pets are allowed. There is no daily maid service. Please return the 2 Dish remotes back on coffee tables

Interaction with guests: You will be contacted by email no later than 2 weeks prior to arrival with keyless door lock code, directions to cabin, what is provided and no need to pack, WIFI access code, important instructions about your stay made simply and easy for you. We also email a handout of Area Attractions and list of restaurants in the area. A welcome binder is available for all our guests to use during the stay located on the kitchen bar.
We are available to answer your questions in a timely manner before, during, and after your stay.
Once you have paid in full the site provides all your contact info so we may email this information.
Cabin owner has thought of everything. Supplied us with attractions and everything you need for a great stay. The cabin was very clean and very well kept. Loved that they listed all the things to do in the surrounding area. Made it very easy to find things to do without having to search on our own. Will be back and have suggested this rental to many people.

New Year's Eve in Appalachian Dream Cabin
We have been in this cabin many times, but the experience is always unforgettable. This last time we had several rainy days, which was the perfect excuse for indoors activities: to sit in front of the fire place with a glass of wine, to read a good book in one of the cozy leather chairs of the great room, to play games downstairs in the family room, or just to enjoy each others company. On the clear days there was always something interesting to explore in the surrounding area. At night it was so incredibly romantic to sit outside and watch the amazing sky so full of stars or to warm up by the fire pit.
To make this experience even better, it came, as usual, with the generous hospitality of Michael, the owner of the property.
This place is really an Appalachian Dream!

Cozy Cabin with a Gorgeous Mountain View!
Everything about this cabin and the scenery was absolutely gorgeous! I loved how the kids had so much to do. They really enjoyed playing air hockey, mega monopoly, cards, watching movies, building fires, and roasting s’mores.The cabin was stocked with just about everything you would need and more. Towels, wash clothes, sheets, blankets, extra pillows, tolieties etc. I was very impressed to find everything I needed to cook with from measuring cups, can openers, pots, pans etc. The complimentary hot coco, s’mores, firewood, and coffee was amazing! It’s the small things that count, and make you feel special during your stay. The cabin was decorated for Christmas so it made it feel like home. We definitely made unforgettable memories here with our children, and will definitely make this our annual family getaway!

Beautiful location near many interesting places to see and explore
Wonderful location for people who love to explore and/or hike and have a great inviting home to return to at the end of the day. Or if you just want to get away and relax and do nothing. Owner is very accommodating and we very much enjoyed our stay. We will definitely return if not this year then next year for sure.

Mountain View Cabin
If you are looking for a luxury Mountain View cabin, then this is it! The cabin has the “million dollar view” of the Blue Ridge Mountains with some of the highest peaks clearly in view. The cabin is as described and it is furnished to the level of a model home with all the amenities one would want available.
We stayed in the cabin for 11 days and enjoyed our time in the area. The cabin is both spacious and functional with spaces for lounging, dining and cooking. There are also separate functional outdoor spaces for grilling, lounging and viewing. The Wi-Fi is good for a mountain area (8 mbps download / 2 mbps upload). Michael, the owner, was very responsive to any request or question.
It is only about a 30-minute drive to some of the most exciting Blue Ridge sites such as Linvllle Falls, Grandfather Mountain and Mount Mitchell.
Access to Asheville is about a 30-40 minute drive where you can visit Biltmore Estates and enjoy all the sites of the Asheville area. Downtown Asheville has over 150 restaurants. The town of Marion is just a five-minute drive from the cabin where you can access an assortment of local restaurants and can do your grocery shopping.

So serene and relaxing!
My first visit ever to North Carolina. Appalachian Dream cabin offered a very memorable experience for my visit . An easy drive to many different locations during my stay . Very secluded and private . Cozy and yet elegant with breathtaking views of the mountain scapes. No matter the time of year you are going to fall in love with this place !! Cant say enough about how great it is here .

Mountain dream
We have stayed in this property many times, but it's always wonderful to be back. Once again, it did our hearts and souls much good to enjoy the peace, quiet, and beauty of these beloved mountains. We also enjoyed the improvements to the property: the fire pit, the barbecue area, and second TV are excellent additions and we made good use of them... As usual, the cabin was spotless and the owner was an example of great southern hospitality. Needless to say that we are already planning our next vacation in that wonderful place.

I Love this Cabin and my family too
We love our vacations in this cabin, i was a verry nice, clean and peacefull. We stay and after 5 days we didnt want to come back to Florida, Thanks to Micahel J verry nice and we enjoy everithing. I will goin to try to come back again.

Mountains vacation
Thank you Michael, awesome experience for some coastal people. The view in the morning from the side is awesome. We would very much like to return next year. The cabin was way more than we expected and the rental was very reasonable. Beautiful and clean.

A portion of a review that was given by a former guest: 'The cabin is in a great location allowing quick commutes to local attractions, downtown Marion, hikes, sights, and needs (groceries / gas) but the best part is that even with the closeness of all that, all you have to do is step onto the back porch, and look at the mountains, and you feel as if you are in the middle of nowhere. It is so quiet and peaceful!'
Lake James is just 15 minutes away with kayak rentals and swimming on the beach. North Carolina's only Caverns less than 30 minutes away. Blue Ridge Parkway, Mount Mitchell State Park ( tallest peak east of Mississippi) Western NC Nature Center, Linville Falls, Wineries, Biltmore Estate, Asheville Hot Air Balloons, etc

The two nearest major airports are Charlotte and Asheville. The cabin is located within 5 minutes of I-40 and just 10 minutes to downtown Marion. Approximately 30 minutes from Asheville, NC. Approximately 1 hour to Charlotte. Due to the cabin being on a mountain top the parking area is limited to 4 vehicles maximum without trailers. You will travel a short well kept gravel road just prior to entering my paved steep driveway.
