This cabin exceeded our
What amazing place to stay that truly has it all! The host, Cheryl, is incredibly responsive. The property is a bison ranch owned by the host and her family. There are about 6 places to lodge on the property including cabins and 2 cabooses that can be rented. Every detail is well thought out and out of the many places I’ve traveled, this is my favorite lodging. The cabin is beautiful and just like the pictures… very romantic and relaxing. There is a sweet cat, Cali, that hangs out on the back porch. There is a petting zoo very nearby on the property and you can also observe the bison being fed each morning at the observation deck. The family has truly thought of everything to make this place very special. We felt very much at home and we didn’t want to leave. The price to lodge was a little high IMO, but once we stayed there, we really thought it was a great value for the entire unforgettable experience we had. Nearby is whitewater rafting and horseback riding. Everything we did took about an hour to get to..so factor that in as well, since the ranch is on the outskirts of Asheville in the city of Clyde/ Crabtree. It’s in the mountains, so pretty much everything is a scenic drive away. We didn’t mind at all since we got to see some pretty sights. The Pisgah forest is also nearby where you can see a pretty waterfall and sliding rock. I would highly recommend bringing a 2 wheel drive vehicle, at the minimum..or an AWD vehicle. The driveways to the cabins are steep, especially if there is rain or snow. It’s gravel and sand on some spots and paced in others. Rent the cabin..you will not be sorry!

What a cozy place to stay
I was given this cabin for a week as a retirement present. Cuter than the picture. My husband, dogs (2) and myself had the most relaxing week. We really hope to go back. The buffalo are really very cool.

Buffalo Bungalow
We stayed at The Buffalo Bungalow before our wedding & for our honeymoon. It is a beautiful, romantic cabin! Cheryl has truly thought of every amenity to make it an amazing place. Shay was wonderful to help us on the beautiful property. We did not use the jacuzzi until the last night & should have used it every night! We will definitely be returning. Please visit this gem...I promise you won’t be disappointed!

Great getaway
We booked this little gem in an impromptu getaway! The cabin is absolutely beautiful with great amenities. The hot tube was clean and very relaxing. There were dirty dishes- mystery moldy items in coffee cups and dried food stuck on silverware. But I always rewash dishes before using when renting. It may be good for the renter to start the dishwasher prior to leaving and let the housekeeper inspect prior to putting them away. Instead of relying on the renter to wash and stow the dishes.. This is what I usually have to do when I rent. We also had an issue with the dual sided fireplace. It was as if the chimney was blocked and the smoke wouldn't go up. I noticed the blackened stones when we arrived, so we knew this likely has happened several times. We had to call the maintenance guy, very nice guy, who told us to turn on the fans to help stop the smoke alarm. Yes, the damper was open! Lol Cheryl and her family were awesome! We will definitely be back. Perfect location and the cabin has everything we needed and more! Thank you for some much needed R&R after a rough year in Healthcare.

Very nice but a few issues
With just a few exceptions (thus removing a star) we had a nice 3-night stay in mid-July. Sorry for a long review here, but we hope it will help others set expectations, and perhaps help the management to improve to a point of a 5 start rating it could be. Our biggest "exception" was in regard to cleaning. Particularly with COVID concerns, we expected the place to be very clean upon arrival. However we found the kitchen counters obviously not cleaned (just wiping down with a paper towel resulted in grime on the towel), the main light switch plates were grimy and had obviously not been cleaned in quite some time, and even some dishes were dirty. Due to COVID concerns, we spent time cleaning before we could settle in and relax. We are not "clean freaks" and this would not have been such an issue in "normal" times, but we hoped extra cleaning would take place while in the midst of the pandemic. That first night we were also surprised and a good bit worried while sitting on the back porch to hear doors opening and closing in the cottage. After then searching the cottage, we noticed someone climbing up from behind the house! When stopped, he said other cottages had problems with TV and wifi and he was checking it in the basement utility room of our cottage. Wow, couldn't someone have let us know advance that someone was coming? The next morning, someone else came by again, but at least this time they knocked on the front door (while we were having breakfast and not entirely dressed yet) to let us know they were checking this again in the basement utility area. So much for expecting lots of exclusion and privacy! Another "exception" was that jets on one half of the hot tub didn't work. We informed management when we left, and apparently they had been unaware of the issue, but this seems something appropriate to check each time the tub is cleaned between guests. We were also very disappointed that, according to information in the cottage, the fireplace was not allowed to be used in the summer and a huge penalty fee would be assessed if it was. This was not disclosed in ANY of the materials we saw prior to arrival. Nights can still get a bit chilly in the mountains even in July, and especially in a "romantic cabin" like this, a small fireplace fire would have been nice. At the very least, the "no fire" policy should be noted prior to reservation or arrival. We settled for a fire in the firepit outside with the provided firewood. We enjoyed the charcoal grill, and the provided grilling tools were a nice touch, but the ash bin for spent charcoal was completely full -- another thing that should be checked more often! Finally, while the lot is surrounded by trees and seemingly a good bit of distance from other cottages, the sound from the others really carries. Whenever sitting outside, we overheard constant conversations from the cottage below, and one night lots of music, singing and conversations from the upper cottage. None of it was terribly loud or bad, but we expected to hear more nature rather than families. With all that said, the cottage itself was very nice. (Oh, one more thing... consider bringing sandals for the shower... the shower room floor is very bumpy "rock" that hurts your feet -- they really should consider smoothing that down!) The cottage was well kept, though, with nice furnishings. Very romantic inside (again, outside didn't seem so much with the "other conversations" going on around us). The furnishings were nice and fairly well kept. Lots of provided cooking supplies and even spices (although the labels on most spices were too faded to read).

Fantastic Getaway
Thank you to Cheryl and her family for creating a perfect getaway location. We stayed at the Buffalo Bungalow and it lived up to all of our expectations. The Bungalow is a perfect couple’s retreat from the hustle and bustle of every day life. My wife and I loved the picturesque mountain location. They thought of every couple would want or need in this little piece of heaven. If your looking to spend quality time with your loved one in a quiet romantic location then the Buffalo Bungalow ought to be your next destination.

Perfect place for a quiet getaway!
Everything about this cabin was wonderful! The quiet mountainside, the buffalo, horses, goats and donkey that roamed near the cabin, the firepit, the fireplace, the comfortable bed, the clean kitchen, the game room, and the hot tub on the private deck. We will be back for sure!

Beautiful cabin with high-end finishes in a beautiful location.
Buffalo Bungalow was exactly what we hoped for. Clean, comfortable, with plenty of entertainment: pool table, foosball table, darts, three tvs, wifi, sauna, hot tub, massage table all right in the cabin. We loved feeding the baby goats, tiny horses, llamas and the resident porch kitty! Highly recommended.
