Quiet solitude and natural beauty in a comfortable, well equipped cabin. Escape your hectic daily routines. Get in touch with your own rhythms and values. Stay at the cabin, read, hike the mountains or Pisgah Creek, or head off to explore the surroundings:

The place is magically beautiful in spring and fall and quite a wonder in summer as well. It's a great place from which to explore the Smokies; a haven for writing, reading, painting, and all outdoor sports.

This land was purchased by our grandfather, Jacob Raphaelson, in the 1940s. He had the cabin built and it has stayed in the family -- going to his two daughters, Virginia and Selma, and then to five siblings, children of Virginia and Ben.

Within 15-20 minutes from your cabin you will find:
• Blue Ridge Parkway
• Waynesville: art galleries, restaurants, antique stores, th...

This cabin in the woods exceeded all expectations. The pictures and rental description do not do it justice. The view from the platform over the creek was post card worthy. The cabin itself was a lot more spacious than we imagined. ( we did not...More

Thanks for appreciating Jake's Cabin. Do come back!

This is a really great place. It's much bigger than I had guessed from the pictures so it's perfect for a group of friends wanting to do some hiking. The back deck overlooking the stream is amazing!

About the neighborhood
Our cabin is on a gravel road that climbs to the top of Mt. Pisgah. Situated on Pisgah Creek, it offers beauty, tranquility, solitude but is not far from civilization: Waynesville, Asheville and Brevard, NC, in particular. Cherokees' Okonaluftee Village makes a great day trip. Cold Mountain is nearby; so is the Cradle of the Forest Nature Center. The Pisgah Inn atop the mountain is a nice place to visit and eat fresh tout while looking out over the mountain range. Plenty of fiddle music and clogging in the immediate vicinity.
