An oasis away from home with a wonderful hosts

This accommodation has all the comforts of home and the hosts are amazing! There are 2 good sized bedrooms, a well-equipped upgraded kitchen, one bathroom with tub/shower and fabulous dinning / parlor room and outdoor deck with views of St. Peter’s Bay. Beautifully decorated and extremely clean. There is AC/a fireplace, dishwasher, laundry/dryer and a BBQ onsite. Set back from the road, it is very quiet and offers a large lawn with Adirondack chairs for outdoor use. Located close to Greenwich Park (dunes, boardwalk and beach), it is easy to get to and a perfect spot for cyclists and outdoor enthusiasts. There is a popular restaurant (Rick’s), a corner / convenience store, and several shops within a 5-minute drive as well as a public park with gazebo to enjoy the sunsets overlooking the bay. Charlottetown is approx 1 hour away. There is a Superstore (grocery) about 20 min nearby. It gets quite dark at night (no street lights) and local businesses close early evening. We highly recommend Moonlight Bay to couples and families, who want to relax or be close to Greenwich Park. Expect quite a bit of driving to explore other popular PEI sights and beaches, if this is your home base.

Perfection

The cottage is beautiful, spotlessly clean, and stocked with everything you could wish for. It's located in the sweetest part of the Island, with great restaurants, beaches, shops, and the nicest people you'll ever meet. The owner/host was wonderful -- lots of great local information, very responsive. (Her restaurant recommendations are golden, too. Windows on the Water in Montague is fantastic, as is Holy Cow in Morell.) We had a perfect week, and would gladly stay again.

Time Stood Still

It is hard to know how to start to describe this beautiful holiday haven in Greenwich Moonlight Bay! It was merely by chance that We had the pleasure of staying at this pristine home away from home. I actually think if I was the owners I would find it hard to give up and share with others, but not this couple. Jennifer is the hostess with the mostess! Jennifer met us at this beautiful pristine summer home and showed us every nook and cranny so we would be well acquainted with her home. Everything from top to bottom was unbelievably shiny and not a speck of dust anywhere it was just so fresh and so clean and you knew the minute you walked in, but you thought wow I wish my house could look this clean. From the colour-coded rooms like the bathroom where everything totally matched right down to the soap in the shower and the tub to the soft pin striped towels and the beautiful teal bathmat, everything was just perfect. It’s really kind of funny because when you even use the facility ... lol... too much information I know...you’re reading these gentle messages which are telling you to relax, or dream, they are everywhere. The strong gentle messages that allowed you to take a deep breath and relax were in every room in the house. If you were just sitting there in the dining room and looking out the bay window as I did every morning with coffee, you wondered how could this really be happening in a time of Covid 29, and how could we be so lucky to be enjoying this beautiful home away from home. Although this was a staycation for us it was sort of surreal because we couldn’t imagine that we were only 45 minutes from home in this little piece of heaven. Once again it is hard to say what the best part was. Was it watching the sunrise with coffee in hand and looking at the panoramic view to your right of St. Peter’s Bay? Or was it indeed gazing at the stars and the moon shining bright over this little piece of heaven. Morning or night it didn’t matter, you were at full steam of relaxation because that’s exactly what you do when you’re at Greenwich Moonlight Bay. You will be delighted to know that three minutes by car will take you to sand dunes and a gentle breeze as you walk through the lapping waves of Greenwich Beach. The short little boardwalk is actually an adventure itself. If you want to take a longer walk you could stroll through the wooded path’s and look at nature’s beautiful flowers as you hear the ocean roar along the bay. You would end up on the rocks of Saint Peters Bay and sit for hours. You know it’s funny when you stay at someone else’s home you’re always super careful about this and that, and at one point I thought oh my gosh I hope I don’t break anything. Which I didn’t LOL. So many pretty things to look at and her lost in the wonder of it all. I must tell you, you will sleep like a baby in these beautiful bedrooms. The pictures don’t do it justice and when you lay your head down at night on these fresh and very soft what I call Oprah sheets, you will close your eyes and start to dream. The sheets are so soft I’ve never felt anything like them before and I swear my legs and arms were softer by morning it’s like there was almost a cream in them. I know it sounds funny but it is the Gods honest truth. When you are on vacation you’re always hungry, as we were and we were so happy to have the takeout dinner menu taped to the fridge for Lin’s take-out service. Wow you better try the dune hamburger or the fish platter… You will not be disappointed. If you wanted to go and try another restaurant a three minute drive will take you down to Rick‘s Fish and chips. Just do it, the world reknown and all the Taurus go there as well. Of course you would want to do a little shopping to take home those amazing memories to put in your house, to send to a friend or just to save for yourself. The artisan shops and boutiques on the causeway are beautiful. Just pick what you want put it in your pocket and you will not regret it. Enclosing I want to thank Jennifer and Tony for allowing us to stay in their beautiful summer home. We will be forever grateful for you sharing this time with us and allowing us lots of R&R. That big comfy couch is like something that should be on TV because I was on it a lot. Thank you for everything. I would encourage anyone and everyone to book this pristine summer house and enjoy every moment watching the stars, gazing at the Panoramic view of the bay or just travelling around the East Points of Prince Edward Island. Total Relaxation in a world class setting

Jennifer's cottage is really a house--and it's ALL yours when you book a stay here. The place is immaculate, and nicely decorated with beach and summer themed artwork, books, wall hangings, etc. The kitchen is stocked with every imaginable item you could want, and outdoors, there are not one, but two areas for cooking: a large standard gas grill, and a smaller propane heater setup. The farmlands surrounding the yard add to the rural ambience, and the shining waters of St. Peter's Bay in the near distance beckon the morning person to get out and get going to the VERY nearby Greenwich Beach National Park dunes and shores. Boardwalks there are world famous for their beauty and accessibility. The cottage offers an admission pass but we didn't need it at the time we visited--the park office actually closed partway through our stay. Jennifer has high standards of cleanliness, which we appreciated. We try to keep our own house the same way back in Minnesota, so this was not a burden at all. One night, we enjoyed a small fire in the fire ring off the front deck, as the full moon rose in the east. As we drove in after dinner down the road, a fox jumped up and ran off toward the tree line, easily seen in our headlights. This is one of the charming things about the cottage: it's totally rural and QUIET setting. Hurricane Dorian had just paid a visit to PEI, but Jennifer had picked up the loose sticks and limbs from nearby trees, and the lawn was freshly mown, so all in all, everything was in readiness as we met her for our move-in appointment. She is very responsive in both email and phone and text messages, and her managerial career comes through in her approach to the rental. You will be impressed if you book here.

Delightful week!

Spotless and well maintained cottage with all the amenities needed, owners very accommodating. Very comfortable beds! Quiet and private yet close to beaches and shops. Handy little restaurant right next door. A nice and relaxing getaway!

Birthday Getaway

We loved the beautiful waterview, had great walks on the Greenwich Beach and Trails. Cottage is great - so pretty. It has lots of space, and has everything you need. Lots of small cooking appliances, pots/pans, dishes utensils etc which was great as we cooked a lot. Great deck with a great view. Large TV, fireplace, free Wi-Fi, books, movies. Loved it we will be back

Everything we could ask, and more!

We were looking for peace and quiet, and found so much more: serene water views, from sunrise to sunset, hiking and biking trails, beautifully protected wildlife forests, dunes, and beaches - all within biking distance from Moonlight Bay Cottage in Greenwich, PEI. Within minutes' driving distance are great restaurants, with locally sourced produce, seafood and meat, as well as grocery shops for self-catering. The cottage is generously supplied with everything you need for a lovely vacation, "away from it all."

Anniversary vacation

What an amazing getaway for every season. My boyfriend and I had our second vacation here this fall for our anniversary. Our first visit was last Valentine's Day. We absolutely can't wait to check it out during the summer as well. The cottage is far enough out of Charlottetown for a relaxing getaway, but not too far. It's so close to the beach and walking trails. My favorite part is waking up to such amazing views. The cottage is equipped with everything you could think of which is super convenient. I love everything about Moonlight Bay. Thanks to the owners for a wonderful stay, we can't wait to come back again!

Safe for children with lots of room for them to play.The nearby tree line provides additional privacy and is home to many birds.Your well lit parking is located right beside the cottage. One of the most beautiful sections of the Confederation Trail begins just 5 minutes away.. Ride a bike or walk on the Confederation Trail as it hugs the St. Peter's Bay. If you didn't bring your bike, don't worry you can rent a bike nearby.The quaint village of St. Peter's Bay is just 5 minutes down the road. (St. Peter's Landing, gas station, store, churches, craft shops, bike & kayak rentals, restaurants, seasonal entertainment and churches). There are a number of golf courses in Eastern PEI and the most operational lighthouses can be found in Eastern PEI. There are many beaches in the area. Going for a drive on one of the many beautiful coastal drives or other scenic routes are sure to delight in every season. Points East Coastal Drive has much to offer. The Points East Coastal Drive website provides you with lots of information on what to see and do in the area. To speak with someone once you arrive about detailed visitor information on this area and the rest of PEI is very easy as a Visitor Information Center is located at "the Bay" 5 minutes away. Approx driving times from the cottage: 15-20 minutes to great golf at the Links of Crowbush Cove. (There are other courses within 30-60 minutes and all across the Island). Basin Head, Red Point, Montague, Georgetown, Cardigan and Souris are all within a 30 minute drive. 40-45 minute drive to Charlottetown-the Capital of PEI. There you can enjoy world class live theater, great dining, shopping, & so much more. If a visit to the land of Anne of Green Gables & Cavendish is on your to do list, it is approx a 75 -min drive (depending on traffic). Greenwich is a great area for all age groups that love to enjoy the natural beauty and activities of this peaceful area. How to get there

A common way to come to PEI via New Brunswick is to take the Confederation Bridge and drive over the Northumberland Strait. The drive across the bridge takes about 10-12 minutes. (You pay when you leave PEI - not on the way to PEI). 1. When you come off the Confederation Bridge you will be in the town of Borden- Carleton and you will pick up the Trans Canada Highway there. Follow the signs to Charlottetown and then to St. Peter's Bay/Greenwich. There are a couple of options to reach the St. Peter's Highway which you take to travel East to Greenwich. ( I will explain more after booking). You stay on this road until you reach a stop sign in St. Peter's Bay (you will be facing the visitor information center). Turn left at the small causeway/bridge. Stay to the left and go up the small hill. Take your first left onto the Greenwich Rd (313) and you will see the large white Roman Catholic church on the right. Continue on the Greenwich Rd approx 5 km then turn right at the lane for Greenwich Moonlight Bay Cottage & also Lin's Take Out.Our civic number is 961. Proceed up the lane and turn onto the first clay lane to the cottage (white with yellow shutters). A white century farm home will be on the left of our cottage and a field will be in front of us. 2. If you come from Nova Scotia you can come via the Confederation Bridge or you might decide to "take the ferry"! Northumberland Ferries cross from NS to PEI several months of the year. Once on PEI you arrive in Wood Islands which is in Eastern PEI and it is an easy and pretty drive to Greenwich. If you decide to come via ferry we will give you detailed directions depending on which route you would like to take to get here from the ferrry...the longer coastal route or more direct route. 3. If you are flying to PEI you will fly into the Charlottetown airport. It is easy to get to the St. Peter's Highway from there and then you follow the directions in #1 above, It is an easy 40-45 min drive to the cottage. Driving directions are on our website and I can send you the one you require as it gets closer to your arrival.
