The Annex is a 2 story 1906 Adirondack 'Camp' in the woods located less than 2 1/2 miles off Exit 26 of U.S. I-87, the Adirondack Northway It is available for weekly rental from mid-May through mid-October. In the heart of the Adirondacks, built in 1906 and filled with original art and assorted antiques, The Annex is a perfect get-away spot for writers, artists, nature enthusiasts, bird and critter watchers (deer, turkeys,foxes pass by: chipmunks, racoons, a groundhog & red & gray squirrels live here) or just plain vacationing couch potatoes. Rustic but fully-equipped 2 storey house complete with kitchen. Beautiful setting, in wooded area of Adirondacks with lake swimming, hiking (easy to energetic!) and rural sightseeing; gracious hosts can guide you...or just curl up with a good book (plenty are provided!) and totally unwind (I did!)!

And, lucky us, we've had friendly and charming visitors from as close as Albany and as far away (this season) as California and Ireland. The Chester Challenge (local hikes) have been particularly popular as have our collection of Adirondacks books. Thanks papaell.

Easy auto access from Adirondack Northway yet rural with woods and 4 forested private acres on beautiful Trout Brook across the road. Great area for biking and hiking. Bike to Schroon Lake boat launch 3 miles away and take a dip in Schroon River across from the launch or bike along Schroon Lake's east side to Country Store in town of Adirondack. There are numerous marked hiking trails in the area. A mile up the road, is Natural Stone bridge & Caves Park , a geological wonder worth visiting. We're about 7 miles from the Seagle Colony (summer opera) and 20 minutes from the North Creek terminus of the North Creek/Saratoga Railway.
