This place was so comfy and quiet. People in neighboring cabins were friendly and respectful. The lake was so nice to paddle boat on. The town of Altmar was not so great- a store for sale down on the main road was vandalized with hate speech and the residents made signs that said "welcome a-blank-s to Altmar, now go home". We decided we wouldn't go down to town to shop for anything if that's what the people were like to visitors. Other than that we had a great first time visiting Altmar/Orwell! We want to make visiting this place a new summer tradition. Hope to see our painted rocks out front next time we come!!

Excellent!
Another great stay! We stayed here last year and couldn’t wait to go back. Our cabin was immaculate and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We will or course be back next year!

Just a great place for a get-a-way with great accommodations!
Private beach, docks, boats, on an inlet to Autumn Lake with good fishing. Cottage was perfect, well furnished with ALL the amenities. A deck with barbecue grill and a near private fire pit and seating. Nearby grocery, bait & tackle shop and fast food eateries. This is just a great place to visit with nearby Salmon River Falls, and the lower reservoir as well as the Department of Energy Conservation (DEC) Fisheries just down the road.
Everything is just perfect for a get-a-way...whether it's to get away from it all, to meet other vacationers or to do a little fishing!

Fantastic room and accommodations for a couple or family.
We chose this cottage and the accompanying amenities as our first family camping trip. I camped a lot as a kid and wanted to introduce my wife and our 3-year old to it. This was the PERFECT choice. I tried for days to find another place that offered waterfront, a beach, private fire pit, kayaks, a paddle boat, and free parking for under $300 per night. I couldn't find anything up to even $900 per night within an hour's drive.
This will certainly not be our last trip and we'll be bringing other family and friends to stay in the other cottages. I can't recommend it enough!

Wonderful place!
My fiancé and I stayed here for a long weekend and had a great time. The cottage was very clean and offered all the needed amenities. We have already decided we would like to make this a yearly trip.

Delightful Cottage #3
We really enjoyed our stay. The cottage was all we hoped for and more. The property was well maintained and quiet. All the cottages are set back from the road and very private. The fishing on Autum lake was good and the Salmon River falls were spectacular and only minutes away. Dont miss the falls!

great location
the temp was in the 90s the whole week we were there being surrounded by all those trees helped cool it down the small lake and the big lake were very calm caught plenty off small bass with a few semi big ones had everything we needed BRIAN WAS A SUPER COOL GUY TAKES GREAT CARE OF PROPERTY great 6 days

Perfect for a romantic getaway!
Very nice relaxing area. Cottage was beautiful, comfortable, perfect for a romantic couples getaway. Lake was awesome, especially with the boats and kayaks available to use. Fishing was fun too, caught some good size bass. Would love to bring our son next time as it’s a great place for kids and families as well.
