I have hesitated to write this review because I don’t want “my villa” booked out when I want to go back there next year.
We (three of us) stayed at Villa Sky Li for a wonderful and relaxing two weeks in February 2020. I have visited Bali on more than 20 occasions, and I have stayed in resorts and villas. Villa Sky Li was the best experience by far.
The location is perfect. It’s behind Seminyak Square and Seminyak Village, close to the beach and to fabulous restaurants like La Lucciola. It’s walking distance to everything, including Mrs Sippy and Potato Head. Despite this, it is super-quiet and very private. It’s on a road that is not a through road, so there’s no parade of passing traffic.
The villa is extremely well appointed, with all of the comforts that you need. Unlike other Bali villas, everything works and nothing is broken. As soon as something shows any sign of malfunction it is whisked away, repaired, and returned in no time (this does not normally happen in Bali). The pool is superb, and the rooms (I had the master suite, which was enormous) are comfortable and well furnished. The beds will give you a superb night’s sleep, and the fact that the area is so quiet will also assist in this regard.
The staff are amazing!! The Mades (there are two of them), Agus, Dewi and Komang could not have done more for us. There is somebody there 24 hours a day, so you never even have to take your keys with you when you go out. Made Number 1 is also an extraordinary chef, and his repertoire will astound you. There is a fabulous book of his suggested dishes that will make your mouth water, and he only needs a little notice (usually the day before will do), and a small amount of rupiah for the shopping, and voila – a meal that is equal to any of those in the local restaurants. His prawn fritters with homemade tartare sauce are to die for, but his local specialities are incredible too.
I could go on and on. However, in short, we didn’t want to leave and we cannot wait to go back.
