Relaxation at its best!!
As they say...first impressions are lasting....and it was superb!
Jan is just an amazing host. Keeps you informed of your stay since the time you booked, what you are able to do in and around Franscchoek and further logistics.
On arrival, Jan was already awaiting and since walking into the quaint cottage (which is so very centrally located and within walking distance from the main road, restaurants, shops etc) i felt at home. The kitchen was kitted to all my needs, rusks are supplied, filter coffee, milk and fruit. Delicious.
The cottage was super clean, you are provided with slippers at the entrance, guest gowns, towels (great quality).
The decor has such attention to detail, had the best sleep on the most amazing bed and puffed cushions with delicious chocolates on each pedestal.
The little courtyard was so Zen....relaxation at its best to sit and have your coffee peacefully surrounded by plants/trees or the complimentary bottle of wine if you so wish.
The private pool is at your disposal and came in perfectly as it was a hot day.
It was one of my best stays in Franscchoek and undoubtly not my last stay at Bleu Cobalt Cottage....well done Jan, see you soon in 2024!

Besser geht es nicht!
Perfekt ausgestattetes Cottage mit Pool zur Alleinbenutzung. Tolle Lage, nur ein kurzer Fußweg und man ist direkt im Zentrum mit seinen zahlreichen Restaurants und Geschäften. Jan ist ein großartiger und sehr aufmerksamer Gastgeber, der seine Gäste mit kleinen Aufmerksamkeiten wie z.B. Wein zur Begrüßung, täglich frisches Obst, Pralinen auf dem Nachtschrank und vieles mehr verwöhnt. Wir waren bereits zum zweiten mal hier und haben uns wieder sehr wohl gefühlt. Wenn wir wieder in Franschhoek sind, dann kommen wir gerne wieder ins Blue Cobalt Cottage.

Perfect holiday apartment and a super host!
The holiday apartment is equipped with everything you need for a pleasant stay! And it is absolutely clean! The best thing is that Jan, the host, cares about the well-being of his guests unnoticed! In the evening there were even candles lit on the terrace. Just perfect! We will be back!

Exceptional 6 Star Stay…Home Away from Home
The personal attention to detail provided by the owner was exceptional. Jan provided fresh linens daily, fresh coffee and cream, biscotti, fruit, and chocolates at night with turn down. The cottage was charming with a kitchenette, dining table, living room, bedroom that opened onto a private patio and pool. Jan gave us helpful restaurant tips, winery suggestions & transportation ideas. Location was central to town & wine tram…easy walking. We will be back!

Fantastic place & a wonderful host
Recently stayed at Bleu Cobalt Cottage as we did the wine tram and looked for something nearby. A really nice place with everything you need and not only that but the host, Jan, was extremely helpful and caring. He shared recommendations even before arriving to the place, he was very flexible with the checkin and even took our car keys to park the car& unpack while we were on the tram. He really went above and beyond and we’ll certainly go back next time in Franschhoek.

A deliciously dreamy breakaway spot
Ours was a girls trip, two close friends, with much to catchup on, to celebrate, and be grateful for. Thanks to Jan, our stay was all we hoped it would be.
On arrival we felt at home instantly, Jan's warm welcome, caring nature, and almost clairvoyant ability to anticipate our every need made our stay dreamlike. Jan's absolute professionalism and efficiency, allowed us to relax and focus only on our pleasure (a rare treat for us workaholics).
Plus, the website photos do not do justice to the elegant room decor, comfortable beds & furniture, and serene garden ambience of the accommodation. Simply beautiful...
Our stay was made so very special from start to finish, with kind, thoughtful gestures throughout - Jan you are superb, you have mastered the art of hospitality!
The accommodation is ideally located in the village, walking distance to all you need, be it groceries, restaurants, bars, art galleries, boutiques and tours. Perfect for us hippies who love strolling to local wateringholes for some music vibes, wine or bubbly.
We highly recommend this accommodation, treat yourself to this deliciously dreamy breakaway spot - it does not disappoint. We will be back!

Franschhoek is a town in South Africa’s Western Cape with centuries-old vineyards and Cape Dutch architecture. Trails wind through flowers and wildlife at Mont Rochelle Nature Reserve to views over Franschhoek Valley. The Huguenot Memorial Museum and neighbouring monument honour the area’s French settlers, who arrived in the 17th and 18th centuries.
