At the foot of the cliff steps is a manicured lawn and beach pavilion. The beach itself is a good walking one. Largely deserted and with palm trees hugging the sand. It is not safe for small kids to swim in the sea out of the private beach gate although there is a small rock pool for paddling. A few minutes away by tuk tuk however and you will arrive at the fabulous Mirissa Beach. A perfect half moon shape bay with waves rolling in. Enjoyed by a few people who know of it there are one or two beach bars and restaurants along this beach.
You will appreciate that we have seen a fair number of villas and whilst all frankly are fabulous, there are a handful that stand out. Pointe Sud is one of a very few that sits comfortably with the luxury villas of the world. No adjective can do it justice.
It was an amazing holiday in villa pointe sud... the villa is located off the beaten track, in a quiet and peaceful area. it has a very large green area, a private swimming pool and direct access to the beach. the views from the terrace and pool are simply spectacular. the house was built and furnished in the English colonial style. it has a huge living room in the central part of the house and a dining room and relaxation area on the terrace. an outstanding cook, he fulfilled our every culinary whim. fantastic service, discreet, helpful, extremely friendly. You won't find a better one!

Beautiful hideaway with superb view and amazing staff
We spent three weeks at this location and could have stayed forever. Apart from a half day trip to close by Galle, some surfing, and a whale watching tour we rarely left the premises. It is a great place to just relax, enjoy the hospitality of the staff, sit in the pool and enjoy the amazing view of the ocean with huge waves breaking onshore (it is a very energetic place!). We spent hours just watching and enjoying the view. There is access to the beach below with a rock pool in which you can get a good feel of the magnitude of the breaking waves and watch sea turtles. For swimming in the ocean you would have to go/tuktuk to other beaches very close by. The house itself is colonial style and a great place just to chill and wait for the next food to come.... What we didn't really realize prior to our arrival is that the house comes with full staff. It is as if you had your own little hotel just for yourself. Due to privacy I don't want to name all the good spirits who have made our life so great. It was not only the good food (we only ate out once (sorry, chef, for not having a real break during these times)), great service, etc. but also a very walm welcome and hospitality we experienced every day. Some members of staff stay on the ground but due to their own housing as well as a separate kitchen place you can still enjoy the privacy throughout your stay. Our family consists of a number of strong characters. The people on the ground, the stunning location, the great food, and the energy of the place led to three very peaceful weeks for all of us (except our last night where we all suffered some sorrow about leaving the place and go back to ordinary life). Special thanks to Jack Eden and his team who have always been very helpful in the planning and with their concierge service on the ground (e.g. massage, private yoga lessons, trips).

Paradise
We spent 3 glorious weeks at Pointe Sud. Lovely house with amazing views and total privacy. We were completely spoiled by the fantastic staff who were both efficient and charming. The chef Aravinda produced the most delicious meals for us and dangerously delicious cakes for afternoon tea. There is a cool little surf village 10min walk alongside the beach with little bars and music and there are shops in the town close by. Pointe Sud is also well placed for trips to Galle and Udawalawe National Park.
I would highly recommend a stay in this charming house.

Sublime on every level
Pointe Sud, the location, the amazing staff, the incredible food, the location - all 10/10. Mornings at the villa were dreamy, the girls doing yoga, the boys playing croquet. After lunch (all food types were catered to with ease), our group of 11 would visit the Salt bar on the local beach. The waves in the summer months were brilliant for boogie boarding and wipe outs. Such happy memories.

Absolutely fantastic first class stay!
We were a large party working in Sri Lanka. The location with it's own private beach was sublime! We were looked after so well by the in house team the best humans you could ever possibly want to meet. Nothing was too much trouble, the food was out of this world typically Sri Lankan and so fresh! I would recommend this villa to everyone I know. Thank you so much for an amazing stay!

Sensational
Our stay at pointe sud was fantastic, hidden away off the main road. On a huge plot of land running right down to the beach. Accommodation was tastefully done in the old colonial style and very comfortable and relaxing. Chef preparation of food was first rate and the team there was very attentive and we wanted for nothing

Thoughtful, caring service in a stunning home
Thank you for a wonderful stay in a beautiful home, full of old world charm and understated luxury. The team looked after my entire family with energy, kindness and generosity. We will be back!
Thank you so much to every one at Point Sud. The villa was perfect, really beautiful, with outrageous views. The chef was incredible, super drivers and the house staff were beyond excellent!
We loved our yoga on the lawn every morning with the fabulous Jessamin (jessamin@jessamin.uk), lazing by the pool, heading to the beach for long walks before hitting the waves at Marissa beach.
The cycling adventure through the tea plantations and visiting the Nation Parks added to our time there.
We can not wait to come back.

Excellent
Great location, excellent staff and Samantha is a chef who produces fantastic meals for all.
Location is superb with the ocean sounds all day. Very attentive staff who do look after you very well.
If you like wine during your stay be prepared to pay over the odds at the wine store just down the road
