Cabin-in-the-Woods yet totally modern
The place has a cabin-in-the-woods feel but is totally modern. Very comfortable. Loved the way the owners used reclaimed materials. Both huge front and back decks for sitting outside. Trees left in close to the cabin so you see and hear the birds in the morning. Kitchen well laid out. Very spacious rooms, good setup. Nice little pond, did not spend too much time fishing. Can't wait to come back!

Tin Rood Weekend
My son graduated from Med school in Kirksville and everything nearby was booked. I rented this house to accommodate family driving in from 5 States. The drive was easy and it got us away from the crowding in Kirksville so we could really enjoy a intimate family gathering. I will make a return trip to the Tin Roof Sundae cabin purely for the venue. This a great place for a large family to relax and connect with nature and each other. The house is perfect. They thought of everything. It is secluded but easy to get to and proved to be the perfect gathering spot for my family to hold our celebration. It blends a rustic feel with all the modern conveniences we have come to depend on. Bring your fishing pole, lots of fun sized fish in the pond. Nice fire pit for the chilly evenings great for roasting marshmallows. I was a little apprehensive because the process was so easy and waited for the “surprise” too easy to be true part to hit but it never did.

About the neighborhood
With its unique combination of native timber, open grasslands, and soil makeup, our Brush Creek property is a 'sweet spot' for Missouri habitat and wildlife. Since 2010, we have actively managed to restore the property to its natural state. By partnering with the Missouri Department of Conservation(MDC) and the Department of Natural Resources (NRCS), we have developed trails, improved wildlife habitat, performed timber stand improvements, and, in the fall of 2017, restored wetland habitat. Hunters and nature enthusiasts, alike, can enjoy a little piece of what Missouri has to offer.
