Comfortable, well renovated, quiet and quaint cottage with nearby walks and the sea.
We enjoyed our stay here. A place to relax, a base for exploring North Cornwall, and a quiet comfortable place to sleep. Everything spick and span on arrival, and a cake on the kitchen counter to welcome us in. The owner sent us very useful local info ahead of our visit so we felt supported in an unobtrusive way when we had a minor problem. Thankyou Tim.

Amazing
I stayed here with my Husband, sister and brother in law 18th - 24th August. What an amazing Little Cottage, just what we needed to chill out and relax. The weather was lovely and one night we noticed that we could see a whole sky full of stars we were amazed at how lovely it was. Lots of info of things to do. We didn't want to leave we had such an amazing time.

A truly wonderful and unique holiday cottage
Trevean Cottage is a 16th century fisherman's home and breathes history in every corner. Therefore, our (second!) holiday here was a true Cornish experience, one you won't get from every other holiday home. We loved this well-equipped, cozy, clean and wonderful little gem of a cottage with its comfy beds, its beautiful stone floor (underground heating, yay!) and the quiet, blooming garden. It's a great place for kids, too: the owner provides books, games, beach gear, anti-roll-bars... you name it. Crackington Haven is SUPERB!!! Not too crowded, not too lonely either, with a stunning beach, a pub that serves delicious food and amazing sea-views, two nice cafés, yummy icecream, and enough really nice locals to still be lively and "real" off-season. I was tempted to write a bad review just to keep this lovely spot of earth a secret ;-). Crackington Haven is also a good base for exploring North Cornwall: Bude, Boscastle, Tintagel, Padstow, Bodmin Moor (go, go, go - it's well worth a visit!), Eden Project, Pencarrow House... we saw it all and LOVED every bit of it. Also, great walks just outside the cottage. What a lovely walk to the beach we had, past Hallagather Farm. Great views! Last but not least: Tim, the owner of the cottage, is the best host we've ever had ! Honestly, they don't make them like that here in Germany - or anywhere else we've been so far. We'll be back a third time!

Lovely little winter break
We loved our little winter break in this cottage. The underfloor heating made it very cosy. Lovely walk down to the beach and the pub there does really good food. Short drive to Boscastle and Bude. We plan on coming back so we can explore more.

Lovely stay
What a super base to escape and explore. A very cosy cottage thanks to the underfloor heating and long burner, even in February. We managed to see and do a lot in between the Spring showers. The information which the owner sent us in advance was very helpful in making the most of our stay. We loved the walk down to the beach and timed it so that we had Sunday lunch at the pub on the beach and then walked back to the cottage in our own time. We would definitely recommend this place!

Cosy cottage in great location
We loved our 3 night stay over the Easter holidays. The owner Tom emailed very useful information on the practicalities of the cottage and the local area which really helped in making the most of our stay. The cottage was very clean, well equipped and has a immensely cosy feel (the undefloor heating downstairs LOVELY with the flagstone flooring). The garden is very sweet too - a very sheltered patio area which enabled us to sit out with drinks in April and a lawned area with lovely coastal views at the end. Crackington Haven is small but the cottage is right next to the village store - the ladies who worked here are are very helpful and you can get all the basics you need (there's just a bit of toilet roll, a few dishwasher tabs and some squeezy soap in the cottage to get you started). 20 minutes walk down the hill (VERY steep on way back up) is the local pub - again, very friendly people and my husband recommends the Merlin ale!. There are also two cafes which we didn't try but looked great. Cottage is about 15 - 30 mins drive to Boscastle, Tintagel and Port Isaac. All well worth a visit. Follow the coastal roads for great views (Tim will advise). The cottage is set up with a double room and twin. Probably suitable for a couple and two small kids or maybe two friends travelling together. My husband's kids are 10 and 8 - it would be a bit of a squeeze for the 4 of us. We loved it as a cosy retreat for two, very romantic in front of the log burner in the evenings and very chilled.

Fabulous little bolt-hole, so happy we found it!
We have just returned from a blissful week in this lovely little cottage. Considering it was end of October, and we had a real mixed-bag of weather (we expected this though, it is England after all!!) not once did we feel cold thanks to the underfloor heating. The location is great - the beach at Crackington is lovely, and the two cafe's are great, and the climb up the coastal path on both sides give wonderful views. The post office/general store is friendly and either has what you want, or will (within reason) get it for you within a day or two. It is an easy drive to many other lovely/interesting places, and we only managed to visit a few of them! In short the cottage is a well equipped, cozy, and the perfect base for exploring Cornwall. The only downsides are minor: as mentioned by others the lack of a washing machine was a mild disadvantage for us (small kids get through clothes very quickly when let loose on a beach!), but there is a launderette in Tintagel if you get desperate; and for me personally a lack of a shower was a minor issue- but the bath is big and there is plenty of hot water! We are very much hoping to do this again next year, maybe for two weeks next time. A note to anyone with two kids and a baby - you could fit comfortably if you are happy to have baby in the main room in the travel cot in my opinion! our kids (3 and 5) LOVED it and keep asking when we are going back to "our Cornwall house".... some explaining to do there then! Thanks Tim and Sam for sharing with us.

Perfect cosy retreat :-)
What a truly perfect cottage; a really lovely little place. Very quaint and just what I was after. All facilities in the cottage were perfect, the kitchen, the fire etc etc. I loved the bathroom too as the bath was just under the window so you could look out the window to the lovely views when taking a relaxing soak! I loved the bookcase with all the games and books too, very homely. Everything was clean and tidy. The bedroom décor was perfect too, v. cottage-like and cute. The village post shop which is immediately next door is v. handy, selling fresh fruit, veg, bread etc and pretty much anything else! The most local pub is down the hill (go left when you leave the cottage) and there's a lovely place that does prawn / crab sandwiches, v. yummy! The walk takes about 20 mins, bear in mind coming back it will take longer time though as it's all up hill, and v. steep to be honest! Worth it though for sure :-) Nearby Boscastle is def. worth a visit (Farm Shop is great and food is sooooo good. Advisable to book a table though, espc. weekends). Fish platter is a must! Tintagel also worth a visit, and def. Port Isaac (lots of cobbled streets and local shops and pubs). Myself and my partner came here in March 2015. Absolutely cannot wait to come back. This was my first visit to Cornwall and it is still somewhere I keep thinking about. The cottage was honestly perfect and truly made my stay complete :-)
