Trevean Cottage is a 16th century fisherman's home and breathes history in every corner. Therefore, our (second!) holiday here was a true Cornish experience, one you won't get from every other holiday home. We loved this well-equipped, cozy, clean and wonderful little gem of a cottage with its comfy beds, its beautiful stone floor (underground heating, yay!) and the quiet, blooming garden. It's a great place for kids, too: the owner provides books, games, beach gear, anti-roll-bars... you name it. Crackington Haven is SUPERB!!! Not too crowded, not too lonely either, with a stunning beach, a pub that serves delicious food and amazing sea-views, two nice cafés, yummy icecream, and enough really nice locals to still be lively and "real" off-season. I was tempted to write a bad review just to keep this lovely spot of earth a secret ;-). Crackington Haven is also a good base for exploring North Cornwall: Bude, Boscastle, Tintagel, Padstow, Bodmin Moor (go, go, go - it's well worth a visit!), Eden Project, Pencarrow House... we saw it all and LOVED every bit of it. Also, great walks just outside the cottage. What a lovely walk to the beach we had, past Hallagather Farm. Great views! Last but not least: Tim, the owner of the cottage, is the best host we've ever had ! Honestly, they don't make them like that here in Germany - or anywhere else we've been so far. We'll be back a third time!
