Colton, Lake District, Cumbria, England
A perfect hideaway in a tranquil little-known part of the Lake District National Park - yet within easy reach of all major Lakeland visitor attractions.

The cottage is perfect for that get-away-from-it-all holiday. It's a cosy base from which you can walk for miles along ancient tracks and footpaths, take a leisurely drive through quiet lanes or just do nothing - relaxing in the 3/4 acres of garden or perhaps taking a picnic down to the summer house overlooking the pond.

Forest Field cottage is a luxurious, (4 star rated) cottage with level access adjacent to our Victorian schoolmaster's house. Completely private and self contained, it has been specially designed for two people. It is well equipped with high quality furnishings and decor throughout and kept in immaculate condition.

Set in beautiful walking country, approached via a single track road, traffic is virtually non-existent, just the occasional tractor or horse. Transport is necessary as Colton is some distance from Ulverston, the nearest town, but this pays off in terms of peace and quiet, and you have your own off road parking. Access to the lakes and many places of interest, all within easy reach. The opportunity to sit and relax in the house gardens, well worth it. Walks in and around...

The accommodation is in a beautiful location in the Rusland Valley, with walks from the door - including a walk across fields to the local pub. We stayed for a long weekend over Christmas and found the accommodation to be lovely and warm and comfortable, and the owners very welcoming. The property is on one level, so would be ideal...

Management response:

Many thanks for your feedback which is much appreciated. We're glad you kept warm and cosy in spite of the weather outside and that you found many of the great eating places around here. We hope to be able to welcome you again at some time in the future.
