Beautiful home and yard in idyllic beachy neighborhood
This was a top-notch place to stay. The home was lovely, great layout, and the balcony and outdoor space was awesome. Beautiful yard, short walk to gorgeous private beach. Wonderful, knowledgeable and helpful hosts. Would definitely return.

You feel at home in this lovely house so close to the beach!

Impeccable house in Manomet/Plymouth, decorated with good taste. My daughter, 2 grandchildren and I appreciated all the space available, both inside and outside. As I told Sandy, the rooms are much bigger than expected from the pictures! Nothing missing, we had several meals there either in the air conditioned house or on the porch, surrounded by huge bushes of flowers. Some of my favorites moments with my 2 grandchildren was to spend an hour before bedtime on the balcony off our 2 upstairs bedrooms watching the stars, even shooting stars, satellites, occasional fireworks...
Good suggestions for activities and restaurants are available. Very nice villages around, great excursion to watch the whales.
Thank you Sandy!

We love welcoming families to enjoy this special property. Stargazing was great last summer, and the gentle surf and wide sandy beach was where most families spent their time. Hope you will be back to Massachusetts, and will stay with us again! A bientot. Sandie

Comfortable and roomy.
This was a perfect location for a visit to the beach and Thomas Land. Family visit from NY. Great sitting area to hear the ocean in the evening. Host was very attentive.

A wonderful home away from home
Great location - minutes from downtown Plymouth and within walking distance to the beach. Great views and very peaceful. I would highly recommend this house to anyone looking for a place in the Plymouth area. Sandy was very helpful and had local area visitor information available at the property.

Third Time is a Charm
This beautiful cottage in Manomet is my happy place. My days here begin with the breath taking sunrise from the upstairs bedroom. Breakfast is easy in the well-equipped kitchen. Then it is off for a walk on the beach or yoga in town at Sanctuary Studios. Plymouth is a short drive and offers a plethora of shopping, dining, and sightseeing opportunities. But if you just want to relax and unwind, pull up a comfy chair on the deck and simply watch and listen to the ocean. There are plenty of dining options close by if you don't want to cook or you can visit the Lobster Hut and take home steamed lobsters or fish and shrimp to cook yourself. In the evenings you can build a fire on the beach or relax in the cottage's comfortable living room. Didn't bring a book? No worries, books are scattered about and TV is available as a last resort. The beds are very comfy, the rooms are extremely well-appointed, and the cottage has everything you need to enjoy a relaxing and rejuvenating week or two at the beach. I highly recommend this lovely cottage. This is my third stay and I have already booked for September!

Lovely New Home -Short Walk to Gorgeous Private Beach
Our last minute plans led me to this rental which turned out to be a wonderful discovery. Even though it was listed as a weekly rental, we were able to work out a shorter stay with the very flexible and accomodating owner, Sandy.
There are two homes on the property and we rented the smaller one in back of the main house. The main house is shown in the photo. We had a small view of the ocean from the kitchen and from the large second story deck adjoining two bedrooms. The house is nearly new and spotlessly clean, with tasteful furnishings and good quality appliances. It is fairly well equipt with cooking supplies, dishes, utensils and some toiletries. The bedrooms are large and airy with lots of windows, overhead fans and also central air conditioning which kept it very comfortable during hot days. We ate a lot of meals on the outside porch which afforded shade and privacy from the lovely mature landscaping dividing the yard from surrounding properties.
The beds were very comfortable and we all slept well. The neighborhood was surprisingly quiet despite the close proximity of homes. My ONLY complaint is waking early every morning to the neighbors barking dog.
The beautiful, clean, nearly empty beach was just down the road a short way - easy to walk to, but a bit awkward if you were carrying a lot of gear, and a lot of stairs to climb on the way home. Seniors might not want to make this trip more than once a day! But it is close and safe enough that teens could come and go as they wished.
The town of Manomet was very near, with lots of convenient stores and restaurants to choose from and also touristy waterfront Plymouth with its rich early American history and LOTS to see and do.
We would return to this property without hesitation and highly recommend it for a relaxing vacation. Why endure the traffic to Cape Cod when Manomet is so lovely?

Hi
We were so happy to help you with your stay when we had a last minute cancellation. Next time you come, there is another access to the beach without stairs!
The picture on the website is the house you rented-the photo is taken facing the house from the front yard, so if you were on that porch, you could see cape cod bay-access from the driveway does not give you this view of the house, of course.
We agree, even in the busiest of times, the beach can seem very private-a great walk in low tide, refreshing on a hot summer's day. Many visitors comment on the soothing sounds of the sea as they sleep at night. Even in the off season, it is a peaceful place-guests are still harvesting herbs and pumpkins from our little garden. Come again soon!

Great stay in this house. A little tricky to find a first, but everything you could ask for in a vacation rental. Sandy is great to work with! I already miss Plymouth

Laura, we were happy we could help you with ideas to celebrate your nephew's birthday...it is true that some gps take you a round about way to get to the house, but we are emailing much simpler directions to folks-thanks for your ideas about things to do in our guest book, including Plymouth, Boston and the Cape! -Sandie

Fantastic & Relaxing mini-vacation!
Our biggest mistake was not staying longer!
This was a beautiful escape and exactly what we needed. My husband and I together with our two-year-old, my sister and brother in-law and their three-year-old couldn't have asked for a more pleasant, relaxing, carefree few days. The easy walk down to the beach made a great early morning activity with the kids. The house is total perfection; clean and well kept with every amenity you could imagine. We loved watching the fireworks from the upstairs deck and sharing afternoon snacks or morning coffee on the porch just off the kitchen.
Sandie and Bob are wonderful, friendly, and caring people that truly enhanced our stay. The pride they take in their property is evident. Each room in the house is cared for and the property carefully manicured. Making sure their guests enjoy their vacation is just as important to them as it is to us.
We were so fortunate to secure a few days at the cottage. We cannot wait to return in 2011!
Thank you, Sandie & Bob!

Beautiful location, beautiful home !
A wonderful vacation home, beautiful location, large spacious rooms, attractively decorated, and with enough public & private spaces for a family or two to enjoy. One of our favorites was the close proximity to the public library, ice cream shop & restarants, which made for a nice side trip for the family on a rainy day. This one is on our revisit list !

First Time In Manomet -:- San Francisco
Quiet, peaceful, felt like our own private rural retreat
What a wonderful place! My teenage son and I stayed here in July 2009, just as the houses were being finished. Our cottage was brand new, with cheerful yet well-chosen, comfortable and soothing furnishings, plenty of space and lots of light. Nights were lovely, with cool breezes and the lazy whish of ceiling fans in the bedrooms. It was quiet and peaceful, with a private path and country lane for the short walk to the beach. Coming from California, I was enchanted by the iconic "Cape Codness" of the long, curving beach - long sandy stretches, paths through the dunes with wooden stairs down to the beach, rocks trailing out into the water. I had been concerned about summer East Coast traffic, but Manomet was an easy drive from Boston, with an equally easy drive to Hyannis and entry to Cape Cod. Very close to Plymouth Plantation, as well, yet the cottage felt as though we had our own private rural retreat. I highly recommend it.

Manomet village in Plymouth is convenient to Pinehills for golf and dining, bike trails in Miles Standish park, and anything you would like to find on Cape Cod or the islands, even for a day trip. Most of our visitors are happy just enjoying the beach, and time to relax. It is easy access to Boston (less than one hour), and a great 'jumping off point' for discovering this part of New England! There is a cafe in walking distance. Think about boat travel to Provincetown, or for whale watching or fishing from Plymouth Harbor. Whether you are looking for a barre class, bread bakery, or farmer's market-we try to clue you in to what Plymouth offers.
