Aigre, Charente, Nouvelle-Aquitaine
A delightful first floor split level flat constructed within a 16th Century Barn. This new project was completed in 2013, and is over 80 square meters in floor area. Comfortably furnished and well appointed with a kitchenette, eating, sitting and sleeping areas together with a good shower room with loo and basin. Outside there is ample parking in the courtyard; a private patio area incorporating a barbeque, dinning area and room to chill or sunbathe. Whilst this is an ideal place for couples to enjoy some peace and quiet, a cot and high chair could be available for a baby. Located in truly rural France, the Charente is a marvel of grapes, corn, maize and of course the Sunflowers (in season!). We are very well placed for an exploring holiday; whether by car, bicycle, or on foot. (You could also hire a boat or a canoe and patrol the Cha... Read more

The only bad thing I have to say about our trip is that we didn't stay long enough! We went for 3 nights and I really didn't want to leave. The charming apartment had everything that you wanted, the grounds were so thoughtfully planned that you could sit and relax, cook a bbq supper, or just enjoy the sunshine -...

Management response:

Wow Rachel, what a fabulous review!! How kind of you! In return we can only say what lovely guests you guys were, and we were so happy for you that you had found the time to relax and enjoy yourselves!! Do please come again all the very best Grania & Stephen

The hamlet is so easy to find set in glorious country side, and the directions given by Stephen were superb. From the moment we drove through the blue gates on a sunny afternoon we knew we were in for a treat. The gite had everything you could need and the flair with which it had been furnished was utterly charming....

Management response:

Fiona & Mike, How kind of you to leave such a glowing review! We were delighted for you that not only were you able to enjoy yourselves but also to find your future idyll! It is always nice when we see our past guests returning, as so many do, and we really look forward to seeing you here again soon....

Reviewed August 17, 2015 for a stay in July 2015

We stayed at this incredible Gite in July 2015 and wish we'd booked for longer! Stephen and Grania were fantastic from the very first contact, ensuring we had detailed directions on how to find it after our long drive from Calais. I'm glad they did provide the directions because the Gite is very remote - situated in a very quiet...

Management response:

Thank you for such a kind review! We'd be delighted to see you both here again. Take care, and good luck for your plans!! Stephen & Grania
