I stayed with extended family for a week at the beautiful historic Hornet's Nest. It was fabulous. The home is cozy for a larger group, but very comfortable. The favorite place was the original porch - such a great view! The expansive lawn was perfect for walks with our dog. The kids enjoyed the two tree swings as well as the bordering woods. It was perfectly situated for side trips to Gettysburg and Washington DC,...

I traveled with two of my daughters and my granddaughter and wanted something a little different than a chain motel, we could get that anywhere. I was so glad that I found Hornets Nest. It is a beautiful location on the mountain, surrounded by woods, but only 15 minutes away from Gettysburg. The home contained everything you could possibly need. I had coffee on the porch and even managed to make breakfast for my daughters...

Talk about having everything! I'm a detailed person and this place truly has everything! The civil war themed deco with the large working fireplace was the real deal. Gorgeous sunrise view from the front porch and deer perusing in the back yard. It's a well loved and cared for home. I'm so glad they were willing to share it with us. Thank you!

We loved our time at the Hornet's Nest! Everything was beautifully prepared for us and they even had fresh flowers on the table when we arrived. We were traveling with family to Gettysburg to gain insight into the significance of the Civil War. To be able to stay in a home that was there at the time added greatly to our experience. The house has been updated with a lovely kitchen and sun room, but...

Beautiful, secluded setting, just a scenic drive away from many fantastic restaurants and popular attractions. Every morning brought the serenity of breakfast and tea on the covered porch surrounded by trees, butterfly gardens, and wildlife visitors. A perfect vacation destination for rest and renewal!
