This year we decided to travel to Maine for our summer vacation. The home we chose was everything we wanted! Wonderful, private location, but close to everything! We enjoyed the nearby beach and the local swimming hole. The fishing was amazing! Holy Mackerel!! Our children learned from "the locals" how to rig their lines, and in a short time, they were bringing in 3 or 4 fish at a time! See the picture of "our...

We stayed a week with our daughter, son-in-law and granddaughters,8 and 2. Everybody had a fabulous time, and enjoyed the owner's thoughtfulness in providing us with anything we could imaginably need. We felt welcomed and pampered all throughout our stay. The farm's location makes it extremely peaceful, and yet it is an ideal base from which to access all interesting destinations such as Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park, Ellsworth, Lubec, Winter Harbor ( to...

Management response:

Thank you very much — we're happy to hear you had a good vacation at the farmhouse. We'd love to have you back as guests anytime!

My wife and I stayed at the farmhouse for a long weekend and we could not be happier with our stay. The farmhouse is very clean and well maintained with all the amenities that one would expect. The location is removed but by no means to far from civilization, so you get the best of both worlds. The house is very close to Ellsworth (shopping and dining) and just a short drive to Acadia national...

First off, we had our Mother in Law, two kids (11,13) and a dog. We had brought bikes, but my daughters cruiser had only one gear so we grabbed one of the "loaners." It was in great shape, which is very indicitaive of the care and attention that this location receives. Somehow, we jammed a kayak into the Mini-van and made for the Lake about a mile down the road. The kids kept wanting to...

About the neighborhood
It's a short walk or bike ride down quiet country roads to the secret swimming hole (known only by the locals) or to the shore's edge at Marlboro Beach. Also close by is Lamoine Beach (one of the few sandy beaches in the area) and the goat farm (delicious cheese!). Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park are under a half-hour away, with miles of spectacular hiking trails. You can run the bikes up Cadillac Mountain or any of the carriage roads on Mount Desert Island, or explore the shoreline and islands of Frenchman's Bay by kayak or sailboat.
