Interaction with guests: The owner lives less than 1/2 mile from the cabin and is available most days, and 24/7 by phone . She will greet/meet you on your arrival day, or shortly thereafter. She can be as involved as you would like, from guiding a paddle on the pond to simply giving suggestions/directions.
The location at the entry point to the peninsula was just minutes away from the quieter part of Acadia and the spectacular Schoodic Point, but was also very convenient to Route 1 for excursions. While we planned many of those, it was lovely to spend time at the cottage enjoying a placid and stunning view of the pond, or to take the canoe or kayaks out for a paddle. The cottage was well adorned with everything we needed and many extras including books on the history of the area, poems and artwork by the artists/poets who lived there and were inspired by the nature and beauty of the place. The owner Anne was an amazing host and made us feel welcome from before we even arrived. The cottage has about 100 years worth of special memories within its walls, vintage elements, and the perfect place for connecting with what really matters.

Charming lake-side cottage
We spent a lovely week at the Poet's Cottage. The location is lovely, right on Jones Pond, where we could Kayak long distances in owner's boats. Geese, ducks and cormorants galore. But the special treat was the hummingbirds coming to feed every day. If you love the outdoors, part of Acadia National Park is only a few miles away, with a dramatic coastline. This is a peaceful, quiet place with lots of outdoor activities nearby and lots of games for rainy days. Plenty of hiking and pleasant walking in the area and in Acadia,

Perfect relaxation spot
Anne is a wonderful host and the cottage is perfect for a relaxing getaway. The setup was perfect for my family and provided ample opportunities for my sons to enjoy nature. Whether it was kayaking on the pond, fishing from the dock, enjoying a evening fire, or watching the wildlife my family had plenty of opportunities to "unplug" and enjoy the outdoors. Exploring Acadia on the Schoodic Peninsula was fun for the whole family. We also enjoyed browsing the local "5 and 10" store for interesting items.

This cabin is a remarkable gem of great natural beauty in a secluded & lovely setting.
We came to the Tugwassa Cabin hoping for a secluded, private cabin with a bounteous amount of natural beauty. We were definitely NOT disappointed. This cabin is perfect for nature lovers who seek a comfortable, non pretentious setting. Cabin owner, Anne Osborne, has provided all needed amenities, and has carefully added little nuggets of joy for her guests to discover. For example, we discovered an old Methodist hymn book complete with "Directions for Singing" penned by John Wesley back in 1761. Our curious 9 year old grand daughter could have spent several days "discovering" all the unique treasures of the Tugwassa cabin. Upon entering the cabin for the first time, we were delighted to hear soft music playing (how thoughtful Anne was to come to her cabin and turn on the radio for us). A highlight for our trip was the evening canoe excursion around Jones Pond, discovering lots of secret nooks and delightful vistas. Anne's canoe is a comfortable & stable delight, and, like all of the pleasures of Tugwassa, available for unlimited use. We hope to return to Tugwassa, perhaps on a regular basis, in the years to come.

Relaxing in picture perfect Maine
This is exactly how we invisioned a down east Maine vacation to be. It's on a pond which right out back of the cottage and it is very private except from a few visitors such as a beaver which swam by just about every evening. Lot's of scenery and restaurants nearby and the owner Anne had great advise of where to go and what to see. We would go exploring Acadia and other areas during the day and enjoy the evenings at the cottage with a bonfire and star gazing.
Simply great!

Great place to relax!
This cottage is a hidden gem! Right on Jones Pond, surrounded by wildlife, beautiful vista's, and quiet! Anne has done a wonderful job with this retreat. It feels like a home away, A great place to explore, or just kick back and enjoy a good book. A clear night sky will make you want to sit back, and just look up and enjoy the stars. Lots to see, and close to Acadia! Well worth the drive!

Peaceful Serenity
Anne's Cottage on Jones pond welcomed us the minute we walked in with its coziness and homey touches. Awakening to gorgeous sunrises, spending the beautiful fall days kayaking, mountain climbing, bicycling, eating Lobster fresh off the boat, and relaxing by the fireside at the end of the day are are the things you can enjoy just to name a few. And of course there is the beautiful night time sky lit up with the Milky Way! Anne was a wonderful host and tour guide with all her knowledge of the area and warm hospitality! We look forward to returning again!

Thanksgiving on Tugwassa...👍💖🌇
Spent Thanksgiving week at Tugwassa.
What a relaxing getaway... The setting on Jones Pond is beautiful with views of the water from almost every window. Cottage itself is very comfortable and has everything needed for a weeks stay.
The cottage comes with a wonderful history which can be seen throughout it's furnishings. The owner, Anne is wonderful to deal with and was very accommodating when I needed to make a change in my booking. The area is great for exploring! Very close to the Schoodic Peninsula area of Acadia National Park. Also easy day trips to Lubec/Campobello and Acadia National Park on Mt. Desert Island.
Definitely looking forward to returning in the warmer weather to take advantage
of the kayak/canoe and easy water access to beautiful Jones Pond.
Thank you Anne for sharing your lovely cottage!!

Pure Peace and quiet
If you are seeking peace and quiet in a beautiful location this is it. The cottage has a world of old charm and perfect for a lingering morning of coffee just watching the wind blow through the trees. If you stay then you must go out on the pond in the provided canoe or kayaks. We were able to experience the leaves changing and it made the place that much more magical. The area is just far enough away yet close enough to anything you would need.
Anne will provide you with any info you need. The best was a recommendation to the Pickled Wrinkle. Excellent place with scratch made food.

Thanks, Tom! Glad you has such a great week of good weather! Autumn is not usually this mild in mid October; you lucked out!! Now you will have to think about coming back for more relaxation and exploration! "Lunch on the Wharf" in Corea is an experience, but closes for season earlier in October! How did you two do on the Tugwassa "scavenger" hunt?

A little piece of serenity
We loved our stay here. Very comfortable and cozy. The stobe was a nice touch for cool evenings. It was far enough from crowds but close enough for day trips to Acadia National Park. Do yourself a favor and turn off all the lights and just enjoy the night sky.
