About the neighborhood
Depending on the season, there are many interesting, down-to-earth, inspiring things to see and do nearby. Locally, we recommend the less explored authentic treasures. Maine covers an area that is larger than all the other New England states combined. We are located in a relatively central area in the state. White Mountain National Forest and major ski resorts are an hour to our west. Boothbay Harbor and the rocky coast of Maine is an hour or two to our east. An hour towards the south is Portland's historic Old Port, harbor, and island hopping. To the north is the pristine Rangeley Lakes Region. Locally, we have organic farms, hiking, theater, and more. There are also a huge number of festivals and fairs going on.
Getting around
The nearest market is Tilton’s. Right in the center of town across from the Post Office. (11 Turner St., Buckfield) The nearest large grocery store is Hannafords in Turner which is located at the junction of Routes 4 and 117. (23 Snell Hill Rd., Turner)
