About the neighborhood
Kingsbridge is a picturesque market town at the head of the Salcome Estaury. There is a small weekly market and twice a month the Farmers' Market takes place in the Market Square. We have a Sports Centre with a swimming pool in the town, 2 public parks, some interesting shops, a cinema and a rural life museum. The town has a bus service connecting to Plymouth, Totnes, Dartmouth, Exeter, Salcombe, and Mill Cottage is near to one of these routes, running from Plymouth via Kingsbridge to Dartmouth, along the famous Slapton Line, with its beautiful beaches and freshwater Ley. Mill Cottage is four and a half miles from Kingsbridge, and another small town, Modbury, is equidistant in the Plymouth direction. Salcombe, only seven miles, is an ideal boating and sailing centre.
How to get there
We are 17 Miles east of Plymouth, the nearest A road being the A379 Plymouth-Dartmouth road. The A38 Devon Expressway (accessible in about 15/20 minutes from our village) connects with the M4 and M5 motorways. Exeter Airport is about an hour away, Bristol Airport about two and a half hours.
