We have invested in the right cleaning products and all surfaces are thoroughly cleaned and gaps between visits. We will also provide Alcohol wipes for guests to wipe surfaces when they arrive, if they like, so they are assured.** With 3 ensuite bedrooms and set within a beautiful thatched walled garden Enford House Cottage is the perfect place for a relaxing & peaceful break in the english countryside but is also within easy reach of many tourist attractions including Stonehenge, Avebury & Salisbury. The cottage is an attached wing of the 18th Century, Grade 2 listed manor house (Enford House) and is a home away from home with comfortable beds, good quality bedlinen and towels and a well equipped kitchen and all bedrooms have an ensuite bath or shower room as well as a TV. The owners live in the main house next door. The property is surrounded by the wall garden which is situated next to the village church and beyond that fields. The village pub, which serves good food, is 2 minutes walk away, and a Michelin starred pub - the Red Lion. WiFi is available There is a garden and a games room in a separate barn close to the cottage which houses a table tennis table, table football, running and rowing machine The village of Enford is in the Avon Valley - the village is totally surrounded by countryside and there are lots of places to walk or bicycle. Stonehenge is an hours walk or 10 min drive. The village has 2 great local pubs. The Swan, which is 2 minutes' walk, and The Red Lion, in the next door village of East Chisenbury, which is 2 minutes' drive or a 20 minute walk. Both do good food - the Red Lion has a Michelin pub award for its food and is a well known Wiltshire pub which people come a long way to visit. There is no shop in the village itself but there are local shops in neighbouring villages less than 5 minutes drive away, major supermarkets in the local towns and all the supermarkets do delivery to the door. The cottage is ideally situated for the following places of interest •Stonehenge (10 mins drive) and Avebury (25 mins drive) Stone Circles (World Heritage sites), •Salisbury Cathedral, Old Sarum and the Medieval cities of Salisbury & Wilton (25 min drive) •Historic Market towns of Devizes, Pewsey, and Marlborough (20 min drive) •Kennet Canal (20 min drive) •Longleat House, Adventure Playground and Safari Park (40 min drive) •National Trust village of Lacock (50 min drive) •Stourhead (50 min drive) •Bath & Winchester (both 1 hour drive) •Plus lots of children's activities including family friendly farms, Paultons Park (for Peppa Pig World) and many more - the information booklet in the cottage lists all of these

Everything we could have wished for and so much more
You MUST stay at Enford House Cottage. Fantastic accommodation for us as a family of 5 with girls aged 6, 8, and 10 visiting from New Zealand. History and culture oozed from Enford village with the thatched rooves, old church and the wonderful Swan pub. Enford House Cottage was a total delight, with everything we needed. Comfortable living areas, well-equipped kitchen, and beautiful bedrooms. The thatch-walled garden was super with a playground for the kids, a paddling pool, vegetables on-hand from the vegetable patch and heaps of parking. Having Mary, Simon and the kids close-by helped make us feel part of the Enford village community for our stay. Mary is lovely ensuring that everything was perfect, without any intrusion, and provided heaps of advice on our trips near and far. We feel very fortunate to have been able to share ‘home’ with the Campbells, and of course the lovely Bumble. We’re already planning our next trip! Thank you Mary, you are the perfect host.

Relaxed, comfortable cottage
As a family of 2 parents and 2 teenage kids we stayed at this lovely comfortable cottage, using it as a base to explore the area. The eldest of the kids had exams to revise for after the half term holiday and the cottage was spacious enough that he had space to do that while the rest of us chilled with a book and a cuppa. Our afternoons were spent exploring the local area and the owners had taken a lot of care to provide details of a variety of things to do in the area. The rooms were spacious and comfortable the kitchen had everything we needed- and more. Overall, a really pleasant stay- with helpful hosts that were on hand should they be needed- but who also respected our privacy throughout our stay.

Super cottage in sweet village
We were a family party of 3 couples and had a a really nice stay in this very comfortable and spacious cottage. It was ideally situated for wonderful historical walks and the local pub was a 2-minute stroll away. Beds were very comfortable, with good quality bed linen and the showers worked well - great water pressure! We also popped into Marlborough, which was very pleasant indeed.

In May 2016 we have used this very nice cottage with 2 families (3 adults, 3 childres age 12-15). The kitchen was very well equiped and all electronic deviced worked properly. Even tea & coffee was provided. Also the "playroom" with e.g. table tennis was nice to use while it rained. The host was very friendly and asked in advance if we want to make a reservation for dinner at the local pub.

Fantastic stay at Enford House Cottage
Enford House Cottage was the perfect location to celebrate our parents surprise 40th wedding anniversary. Mary, the owner was very helpful and friendly throughout the booking process and during our stay. The cottage is lovely and set in a beautiful village in the Wiltshire countryside. There is a lovely pub (The Swan) which is within 2 mins walking distance and many lovely villages within a short drive. There was a group of 6 of us and 2 dogs and we found the cottage to be very spacious and comfortable. The kitchen is equipt with everything you need to cook a meal including a few larder items and there is a large dining table. On arrival we were given a box of eggs fresh from the chickens in the garden, a bottle of milk and there was a tin of biscuits and tea and coffee which was perfect after a long drive! The lounge is very cosy and perfect for relaxing in after a day of exploring. For all you gadget lovers the tv also had a chromecast so we were able to use this to access our Netflix account/All4 etc. The bedrooms were all a good size and had stunning views of the countryside or the beautiful gardens. It was also very handy to have an ensuite bathroom in each of them. Another bonus was the gamesroom, being massive fans of table football and table tennis this was the icing on the cake! Even though our stay was in January there is a heater in there which enabled us to make full use of it! This is a great location if you are looking to take your dog with you as there is a large walled garden which they are allowed to run in and great walks directly from the cottage. To sum up we loved the cottage and the only thing we found dissapointing was having to leave!! Would definitely recommend if planning a trip to this area of the country!

Flawless!
You know that slightly sinking feeling when you arrive at a rental property and it's not quite up to it's hype? Or what's been promised? Won't happen to you when you stay at Enford House Cottage! This charming cottage is designed, furnished and maintained at an incredibly high standard. Washer and dryer? Dishwasher? Yes please. Wonderful bedding and linens. Your landlady, Mary, is friendly and accessible without pressing. And they have a wonderful new puppy, Bumble. In addition to The Swan, try the Old Mill in Salisbury. Jane Austin's house is within touring distance, along with Stonehenge, Avebury, and the 2 cathedrals at Salisbury and Winchester. Marlborough is a delightful nearby town; make sure to visit on Weds morning when the town market is on. Hungerford is great for antiquing. I stayed there in mid-March with 2 friends from Exeter, and can easily see how a full house of 6 (perhaps 4 adults and 2 kids) would be perfectly comfortable with plenty of space. Whatever configuration you need, 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, pretty rare in the UK, should work! Thank you Mary, have a great spring and summer!

Fabulous and really comfortable.
We stayed at Enford House cottage over the New Year 2014. The house was really well equipped with the extra touches which make the difference when self catering.. Mary had even provided a Christmas tree making our stay even more festive. She was also very helpful and ensured that we had all that we needed including checking that the heating was on enough for us during the cold snap. We visited Stourhead gardens, Stonehenge and Salisbury all very easy to get to. My elderly mother who has always self catered stated that the cottage was THE BEST SHE HAD EVER STAYED IN. What more can one ask for, just go and see for yourselves.
