Orrisdale Country Cottages are found in a quiet, peaceful location at the end of a private driveway in the beautiful countryside near Kirk Michael in the Isle of Man. They offer the perfect retreat and yet are only half a mile from the main road with easy access to the village of Kirk Michael, and the larger towns of Peel and Ramsey. Bwaane Meanagh is the middle cottage of the three, and the mid size property with two first floor bedrooms sleeping up to three people. As with each of the cottages, guest comfort is a priority with great quality beds, linens and towels provided in each bedroom. The first floor family bathroom has a bath tub with shower. The nearest villages are Kirk Michael and Ballaugh both of which offer traditional shops, pubs and other amenities. About the neighborhood
The cottages are in a beautiful, peaceful location in the countryside but close to the villages of Kirk Michael and Ballaugh, by the 11th milestone on the famous TT course. Both local villages have the usual amenities including convenience stores, pubs serving food, a post office, chemist and petrol station. A little further afield the larger towns of Ramsey and Peel have plenty of independent shops, restaurants and supermarkets as well as the various visitor attractions and heritage railways. The local area, and the island in general, is perfect for walkers, cyclist and nature lovers too.
Getting around
There is a bus stop at the end of the lane with buses to the nearby villages and the larger towns of Ramsey and Peel. In Ramsey you can board the Manx Electric Railway which is over 100 years old and travel to Laxey (where you can also travel on the Snaefell Mountain Railway to the island's highest point) and Douglas. From there you can experience a trip on the unique horse-drawn trams along the seafront, and on to the South of the island on the Steam Railway.
