Visit the South Foreland Lighthouse, Dover Walmer and Deal Castles, or bring your passport and take a day trip to France.
The apartment sleeps up to a maximum of 4 guests. We do not recommend it for 4 adults but will accept a booking from 4 adults if that's what you want to do. We believe that guests will find the following accommodation combinations comfortable: 2 or 3 adults; 2 adults with up to 2 pre-teen children or one grown-up child. If you are unsure, please contact us for advice.

Me and my girlfriends had a lovely long bank holiday weekend at Headland Cottage. The host was always quick and responsive if we had any questions. Whilst it was a cottage joined to the host we were never disturbed or checked up on. The host did check in on us over text and made sure we were happy. When we entered the home it was clean and we had all the essentials, we even had fresh eggs and butter! We were very close to St Margaret's beach (2min walk). Mermaid beach, Sunny sands and Folkestone beach were all a short drive away (within 30mins). We didn’t have any issues with the amenities available at Headland. Me and the girls will definitely stay again in the future.
Thank you to the hosts of Headland Cottage (Maria) , it was a perfect stay!

Top notch family stay
The apartment was cozy, clean and modern. Great location, peaceful and quiet. Close to good hiking along the coast and nice pub at the bottom of the hill. The owners also provided some great recommendations for food spots wherever we went.

Disappointed
The picture of the accommodation was not what was shown on the booking photo!
It showed the whole front, not cornered off, with three planters and an advertising banner on the gate. Which people stopped to read or take pictures of, while we wee trying to relax outside,

Dear Lynn. We are really sorry you felt disappointed with your stay. Our guests enjoy full access to the front of the property - and the three planters are there to provide even more privacy to our guests. As for the advertising banner, we never had any complaints from any of our previous gusts - based on your feedback we have now moved it away from the front. All the best.

EXCELLENT
The cottage was very clean & comfortable with all basics catered for i.e. tea/coffee/sugar, cleaning materials & including towels. Its pet friendly, in a great location with lots to see around. The rental was value for money and the owners are very nice people. Perfect!

Fabulous
We stayed in this lovely cottage for 3 nights and we cannot fault the cleanliness and quality of everything in the cottage . The fabulous welcome pack was much appreciated.
Our only negative is that it was absolutely fine for us with our 2 dogs but would be somewhat cramped with 4 adults.
Would definitely recommend this cottage

Relaxing time had at 'Headland', good choice.
Lovely location, good kitchen facilties, nice bathroom with a large shower, comfortable bedrooms & lounge and a quality big screen TV for evening entertainment. Great rental to chill out with coastal walking and Pines garden opposite for therapeutic walking and parking being a bonus. What else could you ask for? Owners have been very precise in provision for guests, very happy.

Excellent Base
We had a lovely two week stay at the cottage. Fabulous location within walking distance of the bay. We managed to fit in some crabbing and had a few drinks at the pub.
The cottage is well equipped with everything you need to self cater although if you prefer to eat out there is an abundance of cafes and restaurants close by. The owners couldn’t be more obliging.
Ideal location for exploring Kent.

Fantastic Holiday

Cosy home in lovely location
A lovely cosy apartment in an ideal location for exploring the area. A short walk down to the beach to The Coastguard pub, lovely meals and a short walk up to the White cliffs for lovely views and walks. Lovely meals at The Smugglers Inn in the village and a lovely cooked breakfast at First light cafe. Plenty to do in the area Dover castle worth a visit and the National Trust cafe on the white cliffs overlooking the harbour where you can watch the ferries come and go. We will definitely be back.

Peaceful retreat and welcoming hosts.
We have had two stays at Headland Cottage now as we had such an wonderful holiday the first time I promised my children we would come back.
The cottage itself is small and tidy and has all the amenities you need. There is a lovely little welcome pack on arrival in the kitchen with local made bread, honey, eggs etc. When we stayed this last time the TV wasn't working. I messaged Maria and Michael and they replaced it the same day.
There is so much to see and do locally and in the surrounding area to keep you busy. Before we came Michael and Maria sent us lots of recommendations of what we could do with the kids and made suggestions from things that we were interested in. I felt as though there was nothing that would have been too much trouble. They have already suggested somewhere new for us to try for dinner based on our food likes for the next time we come!
Would definitely recommend to come and stay here for a tranquil stay and wonderful hosts and I would definitely be happy to come back again. (It is in fact the first time I have ever been back to the same place!)

ARRIVAL DIRECTIONS
Take the M20 to Dover which becomes the A20 which you follow to Dover Port. At the roundabout at the port turn right into Jubilee Way following the signs to Deal and joining the A258. At the roundabout at the top of the hill turn right following the signs to Deal – A258. This is the Dover Road.
At the speed camera turn right following the signs to St Margaret's Bay. At the T junction – turn right following the road through the village. The High Street then becomes Sea Street. Continue onto Bay Hill and then bear right into St Margaret's Road.
Turn left onto Beach Road which is unmade - The Pines Gardens will be sign posted. Headland is the third property along on the left hand side.
