About the neighborhood
There are a lot of things to do here and lots of great places to eat nearby.
A mile down the road is Chestnut Mountain Resort. This is a great place for kayaking, hiking, bicycling and horseback riding.
Take a stroll down the road along the Mississippi river. The road is level and very scenic. Four months out of the year we see huge flocks of water fowl out our front windows. A short drive away is Horshoe Mound Preserve where you can take a challenging half-mile hike on Horshoe Loop Trail. Also a short drive away is Thunderbay Waterfall. Many more things to do here.
Getting around
Best is to bring your own car. If you fly into a nearby airport I'll pick you up for a reasonable fee.

How to get there
From Galena, take Blackjack road about 6 miles and turn right at the sign for the Goldmoor Inn. Go past the Goldmoor and turn left at the bottom of the hill onto South River Road. Take the first left into driveway of big yellow building. Watch for wildlife as you get close. Sometimes GPS erroneously sends folks to Goldmoor Inn parking.
